The One and Only
Medvedev has been tetchy most of the tournament. I can see him losing focus here.
Medvedev started well but from the 5th game of 1st set onwards FAA has been better. Match is a combination of the former being a bit rattled by the crowd and the latter playing well in comparison. How has the match been? I only watched the back end of the first set, from 5-5 and it was a bit patchy from both.
If you have VPN you can set your location to AU and watch it from the channel 9 website.Unlikely but does anyone have a quick stream for this?
Every semi-finalist will be a serious contender this tournament. Very hard to pick one from this crop.Is this guy a serious contender for the title then if he gets through? He's a new one on me but I feel generally speaking an up and coming top ten player who downs the favourite can be taken pretty seriously.
If FAA makes it through I think he's comfortably bottom of the pile. He has the least experience and hasn't even won an ATP title yet.Every semi-finalist will be a serious contender this tournament. Very hard to pick one from this crop.
Huge hold there from FAA with an ace on the break point. Now missed a match point. This is still on a knife's edge.
Exactly the reason why I like him as well. No nonsense ball pounding, just wreck it without hesitation.Christ I switched this on at work 3 games ago. Intense stuff. Hope my boy Medvedev finishes it now.
They should really implement a 10 second rule between serves. I reckon he'd be the only competitive player on tour.
Logically yes, just feels like the kind of tournament where anything can and will happen. And it's not like the other three look unbeatable. If FAA makes it through I think he's comfortably bottom of the pile. He has the least experience and hasn't even won an ATP title yet.
Yeah, that and the fact that he's an unapologetical cnut.Exactly the reason why I like him as well. No nonsense ball pounding, just wreck it without hesitation.
It's been an okay match overall, I think.
The first set was high quality. FAA really took it to Medvedev. Since then, both players really under par.
FAA hit more errors than anything else from mid set 2 onwards and Medvedev has given up a ridiculous amount of opportunities on his serve that big players would make taken.
If FAA had any more composure, he'd have done this in 3.
On QF form , Tsitsipas really should be the favourite to make the final.
On paper, yes. But if he plays like this, he'll get beat. Tsitsipas looks to have peaked at the right time. Medvedev has shown glimpses, but nothing of his true level on a consistent basis yet.Nah Medvedev should still be favourite. Tsitsipas is actually more a clay player while Medvedev is more a hard court player.

first time saw his coach 2 years ago and I thought I saw Modric.I'm glad Medvedev's coach took his mask off there. I was having a hard time believing that it wasn't Edwin Van Der Sar.
