Zverev two sets down now.
Has he taken a toilet break yet?Zverev two sets down now.
I bet Djokovic is kicking himself hard now for the stupidity he inflicted on himself. Nadal with a clear path to the final now.
Yeah, agreed, always been an entertaining player. Would be cool for him to get a Slam, or even just a final, in the twilight of his career. It won't happen but if Rafa doesn't win the title I'd absolutely love Monfils to win it
I think he does have top 5 potential. He's maybe a little one dimensional and still weak on the backhand but he's been consistent for a while and unlike some of his other age mates he has performed on all surfaces too which is a real positive. He's made four straight slam QFs in a row now where he has lost Djokovic in relatively competitive mtches in the previous 3.Berrettini is another top 10 player looking for a clear top 5 breakthrough… Monfils in the QF of a Slam is a playable draw and he seems ok at physical level… then here it goes, if he really has what it takes (jury still out).
If this is just heat exhaustion, yes.Does Nadal have any chance to actually win it?
Sounded like it's more likely to be heat related given his interviews. Believe it was also 35 degrees in Mebourne at times today. If this is just heat exhaustion, yes.
If it's an abdominal injury, no.
Actually the SF will likely be another day match. They've got both SFs on Friday and given his half of the draw played first, I imagine they'll put his SF on in the day session with the other SF the night session. He's played 4 of his 5 matches in the day now so the heat would probably get to him at some point. That being said, he's got two night matches now.
