So if I’m understanding correctly, we’re to believe that he took an in-no-way-opportunistic test on the 16th. Presumably he wasn’t having symptoms as he didn’t isolate pending the results. Let’s give him the benefit of the doubt that he had genuine reasons eg being a close contact. Then he goes about his daily life for a couple of days, does the usual stuff; massive public gathering with children, masks off interview with L’Equipe then some time after that he gets his (very belated results), then presumably isolates for a few days and is then spotted practising in Marbella just after Christmas, free of Covid as per the test on the 26th. That’s quite the needle to thread.

Assuming it isn't a totally invented infection to side-step Aussie law and piss on your average citizen who's sacrificed for the greater good. Djokovic has no shame.

Wait you generally believe someone whos obsessed by his image and wants to be loved as much as Rafa and Roger would attend a kids event whilst he knew he was positive?

Makes absolutely no sense.
He clearly doesn't think Covid is a problem and if he was (sort of) asymptomatic I have no doubt he'd be the sort of person to show up wherever he wanted to not bothering about rules just as @Sarni said. The other viable option is that his positive test from the 16th is faked or from someone else.
Some proper mental gymnastics if you think the only viable explanation is that the worlds number 1 tennis player had to wait 3 days for his positive test to be confirmed.

Theres no chance Djokovic goes to a kids event when he knows hes positive, its a PR disaster. Call him what you want but hes not that stupid.

It tallies exactly with his views on Covid throughout the pandemic, regardless if it’s a PR disaster or not.

If you had cause for getting a PCR test, you should presume you are positive until that result comes back and says otherwise.

Seriously the mental gymnastics trying to defend the inexcusable is staggering.
Nonsense, I was advised to go get a PCR test by my doctor last month when I knew all I had was a chest infection and wanted antibiotics and each LFT was constantly negative.

I and numerous others in similar situations would know we ain't positive and didn't isolate as a result.

You seem like the type who sneezes that would freak out and isolate.

Well, it's either he faked the test or he was in public while being Covid positive. My vote is on the test being fake.

However, the judge ruled that his documents were legitimate, which means we have to assume that he was Covid positive at an event for kids, while also unvaccinated and therefore we have to judge him on that.

You’re confusing the word “know” with “believe”.

That works apart from the fact he was positive so everything you've posted here is irrelevant to the Djokovic case.

So you knew better than your Doctor despite showing symptoms of COVID? That’s remarkably ignorant and explains your position on Novax. Thanks for being so honest and spoiling your own argument.

One has to wonder why he even bothered to consult the doctor if he knew better than him.

Surely if he was so concerned about his PR, he wouldn't even try to get into AO based on that test from 16th Dec. There was no way he would be coming out of this without tarnished reputation.

Person X finds out someone he was around two days prior tested positive, so he takes a test even though he has no symptoms, continues on as normal and then finds out he was positive after attending a kids event. How can people honestly claim thats not possible?

I know someone whos son tested positive in UK(Dad should have been isolating as per rules) went out to get some bread whilst awaiting his PCR result, witnessed a hit and run. Cops called him, he explained the situation regarding his son being positive etc and they still had him attend the police station to give a statement before his results!

THERE’S BEEN A RAPE UP THERE!!

Thank feck you knew better than someone with medical expertise.

You should be ashamed of yourself but I'm going to take a wild guess you are somewhat aroused instead. Just a guess mind.

True story: my partner’s sister is a primary school teacher and was off for nearly two weeks with a chest infection testing negative with LFTs every couple of days. She had a PCR the first week she was off and it was negative and then a PCR the day before she was due to go back to work and that came back positive.

That was at the end of November and she’s still got a persistent cough now although she’s since had a negative PCR obviously.

So basically, he didn't have COVID? I refuse to believe it took a man of Novak's resources in Serbia, two days to get a report and he was roaming around freely in that time.

Doctors tell everyone to get a Covid test at any slight thing and I wasn't showing any Covid symptoms, so please don't lie!

He never told me to isolate and rules said I didn't need to isolate. So yeah I spoiled nothing another who can't handle facts on here.

He claims he tested negative on the 22nd. I'm assuming this result also took him more than 2 days to reach just as the positive did?

Could you just explain for us what symptoms you had for this chest infection which aren’t symptoms for COVID?

Also, Novak's PCR report says the time of sampling was 1:05 PM on the 16th while his time of result was 8:19 PM on the same day. Now unless they chose to wait two days before informing the most famous person in Serbia that he is Covid positive...

And even if we decided to give him this enormous benefit of the doubt, did he bother informing everyone he was in contact with that he tested positive whenever he did find out?

It's very surprising that he never posted on any of his social media platforms that he has tested positive and that anyone who he has come in contact with should isolate. Every public figure, in every field, does this now. It's basic decency and responsibility.

This sort of wank attitude is why this shit spreads like wildfire.

It will be interesting if Australian government still deports him. Court ruled that Djokovic followed the rules and government was bending it to avoid backlash.

If Australian government kicks him out then I fail to understand what was the point of this court hearing and court decision.

Assuming he does play, how do we think Novak will do at the tournament?

As mentally resilient as he is, he's only human. He's not been able to train, probably not slept well and likely mentally a bit drained by it all. I'd expect him to be grilled by questions in the media in the coming days and he may be playing in front of hostile crowds from round 1.

Also if he does go deep in the tournament, would the hostility dwindle by the round?

Stacks are against him big time. As a fan I hope he wins but I just don't see him doing well. He hasn't helped himself at all. He thinks he is on the right side of history but at this point he is not . 10 years or so from now, who knows. Vaccines will have to literary kill decent percentage or cause serious sickness.

It seems personal choice doesn't matter as majority thinks people who don't take vaccines are selfish and don't care for the rules / others .

Just reading this thread as a Djokovic fan is hard. He did not help himself looking good by simply sharing the positive test and not being in public during that time.
