Tennis 2019

Why is he complaining?

Said the original call affected his stroke on the serve that was challenged. He’s probably right but the umpire said otherwise.

Love watching Kyrgios, cracking value.

Nah.

He’s only really fired up against the Big 3, don’t think he’s ever backed up a win against any of them with another good performance. Take his win against Fed in Madrid for instance, went out in straights the next match.

Yeah that’s why I said put him up against the top 7 players and play him on the show piece courts he’d be motivated. Put him on some random court against a guy ranked 25 and he wouldn’t care.

Also he’s had tournaments where he’s beaten the big three and reached quarters or semis. His first Wimbledon he reached the quarters.

Also this Todd guy constantly defending Kyrgios is a bit cringeworthy.

Thanks,I am watching without sound and didn't understand and then he doesn't play seriously the rest of the points...:wenger: .
Nadal is nervous

Nadals not putting any pressure on Kyrgios serve. Just missing too much when there are rally opportunities.

i'm home just in time for this entertaining match:drool:
Would love a 5 setter.

That was a great serve from Nadal

Only one person going to win in the tie break. Nadal needed to break.

Nick needs to keep his concentration. I want a five setter:D

Nadal at this level will eat Roger alive. Dominating every rally against a tough opponent, and serving aces at roughly the same rate as Fed.

Nick isn't the greatest during rallies though. Roger is at an entirely different level.

If Nick put in this effort vs everyone else, he'd be making second weeks of Slams regularly.

Kyrgios served well. But Nadals been disappointing at times when he’s had a chance.

Great performance from Rafa. Even better that the annoying cnut Kyrgios is out.

Rafa dragging Kyrgios in the interview by saying that he is a very tough opponent when he wants to try and usually against the big players he does try hard

Very good performance from Rafa. Tsonga will be a tough match next but I think he should get through that one.

Just noticed Federer has Pouille next who has been playing well, think that could be a good match.

Kyrgios would be a much better player if he had some consistency and patience in his game.

Tsonga will be almost as difficult as Nick today so Rafa will absolutely have to be at his best again.

Federer should get through Pouille even with his current poor form but Berrettini might be the hard one.

Is that really dragging?

It’s the truth and Kyrgios himself has said that.

Nick: "I was going for. I wanted to hit him square in the chest."

Always a disgrace this guy.

It would be good to see Rafa do well this year on grass. Hopefully his knees can hold out so he can strike the ball as well as he did today.

Kyrgios is a fraud. I can't believe people think he's a potential grand slam winner. Just not good enough

He was great last year. If he didn't cock up a couple of big points/had more favourable SF conditions, he could've beaten Djokovic last year.

I think ultimately games like Nick and Tsonga back to back and then later to have to face Novak and Roger back to back might be just too much for Rafa on grass.

Federer should be happy too.

Nadal not so much

So now Nadal has gone past Kyrgios. Tsonga is the only one left before the semis.

I don’t think Federer is a given to reach it either. Pouille isn’t going to be as generous as his opponent today, so Fed will need to step up which to be fair he usually does once he gets to the second week.

That is interesting that you felt that last year. I was a nervous wreck. I was never confident at any stage that he was going to do it. Djokovic kept the rallies so long and Rafa was trying to get them over quickly which does not really suit him.

So how would you compare his performance today to last year?

Kyrgios is also looking more foolish considering all that talk about clay sucking and grass being better. His grass season was no better than his clay. He probably would have atleast made third round in french if he bothered turning up.
