Tennis 2019

Clarke had a chance there at 5-4 and 15-30 on Federer's serve. Now he'll probably lost the set 5-7 instead.

He's your typical solid clay courter who also translates his game on hard. Isn't really capable of competing at the highest level and against top 10 players for a sustained period, especially on grass. In a slam he doesn't have the mental edge as you said to trouble top dogs.

Generally agree with your view, but really surprised with Cilic who should be able to sweep him aside.

I'm also surprised, because Sousa rarely performs against players of that Caliber, but I guess something is wrong with Cilic, since he's clearly a player with talent to be a top 10 and he's struggling this year.

Federer's lucky he's not gotten any tough players to face because his level isn't great at all so far at Wimbledon. If he doesn't improve, Berretini in R4 could be a difficult match.

Too many sloppy points from Clarke, this is Federer's set for the taking now.

Clarke was 2-1 with a mini break and then, well, showed why he's not ranked in the top 100 players or so

Cillic out. He’s not a tough draw anymore considering how he’s being played for the last 12 months or so.

Since the US open he’s been getting knocked out of nearly every tournament first or second round. He’s like ranked 55 for the race to London which shows how many points he’s dropped already this year.

I also agree on this because Berretini is in a very good form. He will be a tough bone for any player atm.

Yeah he's had some impressive results over Stuttgart and Halle. If he manages to make it to the 4th Round, considering the likes of Clarke and Harris are giving Federer a tough match, Berretini should have enough in him to get a set.

Tsonga through in straight sets. Another tough match for Rafa if he makes it through today.

Good to see Rafa is making a lie of the idea that this was ever a genuine rivalry in terms of it being a contest. Nadal is so much the better player that I’d fully expect him to be close to home after an hour and a half.

 Kyrgios is such a clown. Tennis is better for it I think - something different.

don't know if anyone watched Cilic against Sousa today, but his performance was something that Nick or Tomic would get fined for, almost like it was match fixing. Tomic had about 25 unforced errors vs Tsonga in whole match - Cilic already had about 40 when I stopped watching near the end of second set. literally every second shot he made ended out of the court. every break point he got he just gifted back. he even gifted the clear point twice to Sousa because he thought the ball was going to land out of field but it didn't. seriously, Tomic and Nick would get fined for that performance purely because of their reputation. Cilic is currently getting ridiculed on our forums and media, but that's about that, nobody is going to call him out for "not meeting professional standards".

btw, 1-0 for Rafa. get in!

Kyrgios doesn’t bother apologising for the net cord. Toni Nadal was right he’s uneducated.

Kyrgios is a glorious player when he wants to play. Be a shame if this kid never wins a slam.

It's only a shame if he has the application and work ethic which he obviously doesn't. Nadal will sort this out. His opponent wont have the consistency.

Yeah Kyrgios said he doesn’t even like tennis and would prefer to spend his time playing basketball. This is just a gravy train for him.

Which is still a shame, mind, because he’s easily the most talented player out of the ‘young’ lot.

 What an idiot. This fellow is never winning a slam. He doesn't have it.

Talented but he doesn’t work hard enough.

Just look at Gasquet he had a decent career, but it could have been much better if he had the work ethic as Murray.

Kyrgios behaving like a dick. Why can’t he just play.

No focus. Bad attitude. I'd be shocked to see this plonker ever win a slam.

Nadals playing a bit nervous too. He should have seen this set out.

this is precisely why Nick is dangerous on this surface. he may be a clown, but has everything needed to win here.

He should win a Wimbledon title - grass is so well suited to his versatile play style.

He’d win a Wimbledon if he played 7 of the top 10 players on centre court.

Put him on another court against some random player and he’d just won’t care.

Nah.

He’s only really fired up against the Big 3, don’t think he’s ever backed up a win against any of them with another good performance. Take his win against Fed in Madrid for instance, went out in straights the next match.
