You do that one your own? My problem with watching tennis is Wimbledon aside I have very few friends willing to or interested in going to see it.

Like I want to go to the USO next year, but think I'll have to drum it up to a few people that it's a holiday to NYC, with the added potential of going to the tennis.
Haven't been to the O2, how are the tickets going mate? Contemplating on going at the end of the year. Are there any tickets month prior to the competition or I need to book early?

I'd booked mine a week prior to the games so they sold for as much as 80GBP for a session on viagogo. Book once they're released though they're far cheaper depending on what seats you go for.

Makes sense that. Might do the same for WTF semi final and final tickets as I've just realised I'm on holiday during the week when the RR will be going on.

I did a similar thing last year with RG. My sister was in Paris, so went to visit her but spent a couple of days on my own at RG. Weather was shite and Nadal pulling out during the first week was a big shame, but still enjoyed.
Semis and finals sell out pretty fast from what I remember. Ah going to RG and missing out on Nadal must have been awful!

Cheers.

Want to book when the draw is out and sessions are determined as I have to book 2 otherwise if I want to watch Federer for example. Seems ok if I compare it to Wimbey.

I think the draws come out a week or two prior to it so a lot of the better seats might be sold out especially if Federer is playing the night session. I paid the most for the Fed Berdych night game of the entire lot. Great place though the O2

You can buy tickets at face value maybe a month or so before the draw I believe, but then you have no idea who you will see (especially if RR). They go on ticketmaster as well, and particularly if it's a shit match, tickets will be going really cheap. Must have been last year I checked to see the price of Nishikori - Thiem in the morning and people were trying to flog their tickets for less than £20.

Yeah I'd imagine so, but I'd need to check out dates of when it all goes on sale.

Yeah it sucked and I was gutted especially as I had semi final tickets, so was looking forward to a Novak - Rafa match.

Got to see Novak, Murray, Stan and Serena though, during my time so it wasn't all bad.

So that's group stage session 80GBP?

in 2012 I paid 110GBP & 150GBP for the SF/F at Wimbey for Federer vs Djoko/Murray, but those were pre bought before the tournament started. Think this year the prices are a bit higher for SF's F's 150/190 I think or something.

O2 is great. Would love to visit it this year depending on schedule, but probably one of the last chances to see Federer/Nadal.

Yep I'd seen the first set of RR matches but it was Federer and the night session so it went pretty expensive. Murray Ferrer in the afternoon on a weekday went for barely 17 GBP. I think you're better off buying night session matches in advance. Also 110 GBP doesn't seem too bad for a Wimbledon SF at all!

Wimbledon ticket prices are much more reasonable than for the WTF (face value anyway). Problem is you either need to get extremely lucky in the ballot/ticketmaster, know someone with free tickets or be loaded to get tickets to Wimbledon.

For a slam you really need to take your chance IMO. Some were selling F tickets on the ground as much as 320-350 GBP always good to book in advance. Got it 2 months before and sure hoped most top guys won't bomb out early.

At face value I'm not sure if they won't be sold out month before anyway, especially since Murray came into contention.

They are going at around 155/190 at face value today. With early rounds is tricky as you must book 3 days sometimes.

Probably 2 night sessions in RR would be the best deal.

Cheers, will check it out when time comes.

Even for a shit match at £20 will be a great experience.

If any of you are planning to go world tour finals and have a spare ticket or want someone to go with.. would be more than happy to pay my way and attend :).

I would love to go US Open, I think that is the one major I'd really want to attend.

Turns out tickets for the WTFs went out in Feb  may look it up when I get home.

@Enigma_87 where did you buy your Wimbledon tickets from? Must have been great to see semi final and final tickets!

Got a mate in London, was working at William Hill at the time, he got us the tickets for both 2 months prior. Think they were at face value at the time.

Aye indeed two great matches as well. I'd go to it every year if I have the chance, great atmosphere.

I'll keep you in mind mate, would love to share the trip. Will see how my work goes till the end of the year and how is my schedule but really want to attend this year. :)

Makes sense then, cause I was thinking how the feck did you pull that off.

I'm also the same for the Enigma for the world tour finals @Raees

Though I can only do the SF day, final or the final RR day on the Friday.

Yeah either of those would work for me too.

Don't know anyone in real life whose that into tennis, so having someone who knows the game to go with would be pretty awesome.

Federer a break down in the final set against Haas. Started really well, 6-2 in the first.

That would be only second loss of the season.

Both losses against random guys. Can't remember who it Roger first lost to this year.

Fed was a set and break up . This is quite a shocking loss! He did lose to Haas here two years ago also I think. This dents his bid for #1 though (incase he was serious)

People were bashing Nadal the other day for losing to a 35 year old. Which was ridiculous.

Then Federer goes and loses to a 39 year old.

Nah he's ok. It was still only 250 points to pick up for Stuttgart. It was expected to be very rusty. That's a lot of time off tour.

Haas spent about twelve months out from tennis when he first beat Fed in 2012., winning the ATP Halle in Germany.
this is only his second win against him, again after a fifteen months long break from tennis, again in Germany (now Stuttgart).

he used to be very good player, shame because of injuries.

I think Kyrgios is a real dark-horse for Wimbledon. I know that has been said by some people (maybe just the Australian media) quite often but I have never really believed it. If he can get a decent draw and keep his head on straight I think he will go very deep though. Expecting either Murray or Federer to win it. I haven't seen a lot of Raonic this year so not sure if he will be a real threat but he looked like he was getting closer to breaking through last season.

Gotta be the most open Wimbledon in years really......going in at least, theres no definitive one or two faves, and people outside the Big 4 are the lowest odds they've ever been.

I think I'll slightly lean to Federer as the favourite regardless of a trivial tune up match loss, how he does at Halle and Murray at Queens will determine whether I flip them. As much as I'd prefer it, I just don't fathom Stan doing much on grass...but I'd love for him to oddly have a career slam out of the blue.

Fourth. If in game graphics are to be trusted.

If Nick plays how did he at the two Ameircan Masters, he's got a great chance.

I think we may get an relatively unfancied winner at Wimbledon. Nadal isn't great on grass and I don't expect Federer to again come back and immediately win a GS the way he did at the AO. Murray isn't looking great either. It's a good time for someone to make his name as the next big thing.

Thiem! Strong/hard server and very strong.

Kyrgios injured at Queens. Potentially out of Wimbledon? Anyone know how serious it may be.

Seemed more like a precautionary retirement to me. 4-4 when it happened, he still got to a tie-break and looked like he could have carried on if he really had to. Nasty looking fall though.

Just to put it in perspective I watched live(well on TV of course) his match against Sampras 15 years ago at Rodgers Cup (think it was Montreal) where he beat him in 3 sets just before Sampras won the USO in his swan song. Was rooting for Sampras at the time, but Haas played some terrific tennis. 15 years later he beats rejuvenated Federer on grass - talk about longevity.

How the feck is Tommy Haas still going? He was a veteran in about 2009.

Roger looked pretty sharp today. Mind the opposition was not that great, but he had found his timing on grass and looked focused(compared to week ago).

Classic Fed. Has 5-0 and 40-0 on his serve, only to lose next five points. Easily took next one thou.

Murray might lose his match any moment now.
