I hope so. I was 100% on the Del Po bandwagon after the 2009 USO and it was sad to watch him fall away.

I reckon Rafa will get him though. That being said, if Del Po plays at his top level, nobody beats him. I think he played even better against Thiem. Roger wasn't great, but Del Po made him that way.
 
Really great to see Del Potro do it. He was absolutely brilliant tonight. Federer was below par, but it was much more about DP winning it than Federer losing it. Hope he can give Nadal a proper game, albeit I can't see beyond Rafa now.
 
For all intents and purposes, DelPo should absolutely smash Nadal. It's a woeful matchup for Nadal.....but that's assuming DelPo shows up.

Yeap. The big question is DelPo's fitness level, playing a 5 setter with Thiem sick and now a long match against Fed. Nadal got broken once by Rublev and came pretty close a couple other times despite the latter being overwhelmed so betting on Nadal based on from is weird.

Del Potro is 6-0 vs him. Would be better if PCB makes the final atleast he's 0-0 vs Del Potro. PCB vs Nadal would be one sided to Nadal.

Anderson vs Nadal would be more competitive as that's the sort of player Nadal can struggle against.

Yeah but the draw has been very easy for him. Whilst Del Potro has beaten Thiem and Federer. He'd have beaten Nadal too if he reaches the final, I don't see Anderson stopping him if those three can't.
 
Well done to Del Po. Looking forward to the semi final.

Even though it won't be, still slightly hoping this is the first match on Friday, so that I won't have to stay up too late for it.
 
I like Nadal but I really wouldn't mind If Del Potro won. Seems a great guy who's career has been wrecked by injuries. Would be fantastic if he wins one more grand slam. No one deserves it more. When he gets that forehand going he's fantastic to watch.

Poor New Yorkers though. They'll probably never see Federer Nadal at the Open:lol:

The semi is a win win for me now. I love Nadal but I'll be delighted for Del Po if he wins as well but he better not then go on and mess it up in the final :lol:
As for those saying it's an easy win for Nadal, you guys are bonkers. He's the type of player he would absolutely struggle against as we saw in the 09 final and even Olympics last year. He's won the last two ties against him.

Will Federer take the rest of the year off now to get his back in shape for next season?
 
If Nadal loses to DelPo and he wishes to get the year-end no.1, I imagine he'll play Shanghai and the Tour Finals. Otherwise probably take the rest off.

Nadal will play the WTF irrespective of what happens in NY. Shanghai I hope he doesn't bother with. The ranking is unimportant.

It's been easy because 6 of the top 10 players are missing. I don't need stats or essays to tell me that. Then you had Rublev knock out Dimitrov and Goffin.

But tonight is his toughest match by far and it's really the toughest match in this tournament besides Federer. Del Potro fit and firing can beat anyone on tour.
 
PCB takes the first set. Anderson...doesn't have much in his game other than his big serves, does he?
 
Decent second set that. I'm probably going to sleep a bit now though. Rest myself for Rafa Delpo.
