Oh dear, Kerber just got hammered.
Complete shambles.
What a collapse. She should join the club and take a few months off.
Maybe I was overestimating Rafa when I thought he'd be competitive at the USO
Not watching but first set to Tiafoe. Anyone watching? Still expect Fed to take in 4.

Absolutely.In a match with Sharapova?
What's going for him though is that there really is no great compeition. Nick is the only one who can potentially beat him but I don't trust him to get to the 4th Round at all.Watched some 'highlights' of Federer's game and he looks really, really sluggish. I noticed a few comparisons to the Aussie Open of this year, but right now I'd say he's not even at that level. It'll be interesting to see if - and this assumes that he's physically recovered, albeit struggling for sharpness - he's able to play himself into form over the course of the week. I think he might be very vulnerable in the next few matches, if he makes it that far.

The only real concern for me is the state of his back. I'm ok with him being rusty in the first few matches as long as he manages to get through them; the rustiness should go away if he manages to make it to the second week. Unfortunately, rustiness may go away but a back injury definitely won't. Federer's first serve percentage was much, much closer to Montréal than Wimbledon, which worries me in that it makes me feel that he is still injured. Only time will tell however. He was better at Indian Wells and Miami, but his AO form for me was better than his grass season, and much better than Montreal. If he recovers to the level which saw him beat Nadal, Wawrinka, Nishikori albeit with some bad sets (thrashing Berdych and Zverev's brother) he will probably win the US open.

He'll beat those two with ease. Verdasco is another one who probably won't even make R3.Youzhny and Lopez/Verdasco are about as tough as it gets in R2/3.
He has nothing going for him with this draw.

He just scraped by Tiafoe in 5.He'll beat those two with ease. Verdasco is another one who probably won't even make R3.
