Too many double faults from Venus. An inconsistent one-slam wonder (as of June 2017) beating a multiple winner in their mid-30s... Ahem. The baselines look terrible.

That's a bit harsh, given she's been in three finals in two years- plus Wimbledon and French Open, so an achievement in its self.

You don't think she's inconsistent?
She seems to be, particularly her forehand, not that I've seen much of her.
Just seems harsh to dismiss a three-time Open finalist as a 'one slam wonder', wouldn't you say?

Wow that was a bad line call.

Perhaps slightly exaggerated to allow the comparison with Cilic but she's been particularly disappointing since that French Open win, until this tournament of course.

Woah, bit of a turnaround at the end of that set.

Hmm. Not saying she's doing it for an advantage, but that last one was on a key point.
It's quite common to see players do it to allow themselves more time, Murray's pretty bad at it. Not sure what the umpires can do to clamp down on it but they rarely seem particularly bothered by it.

Credit to her for turning it on when it matters I guess.
Would be nice to have Venus and Fed win though.

Who is the favourites for this? I have €10 on Venus before the start of this tournament, can't believe she really made it this far.

Jesus, Venus not looking herself and struggling big time here.
