This match is on Konta's racquet but she needs to stop shitting the bed on break points. Hope they get the other match in tonight, can't be doing with any delays tomorrow.

What's the issue?

And they don't even split it even evenly between the mens and women's.

I don't enjoy women tennis tbh. It's very low quality compared to men and when booking a day/night session have to wait for them to finish before main event start :(

I'd normally agree with this but the women's tournament has been better than the men's this year for excitement.

Novak is ranked World no 4, not 2. The fact that he's dropped from World #1 to #4 after winning the French Open just a year ago shows how far he has fallen. Prior to his decline, he was a machine, the most consistent player in ATP. From 2011 to 2013, he's made it to the semis in every grand slam and reached the final 9/12 times. From 2014 to 2016 before he mysteriously lost his magic after he won the French Open last year, he made it to the semis on all grand slams except his quarter-final loss in 2014 AO, won 3/4 grand slams in 2015 and lost the final to Wawrinka in FO in 2015 before finally winning it the following year to complete his CGS. So if he does win this year's Wimbledon, it would be a great comeback for him considering he hasn't won a slam in over a year which is terrible going by his standard, due to the ridiculously high bar he set for himself.

Sorry, forgot he had actually dropped. Also, I'm not saying it wouldn't be a remarkable comeback, but to be classified as a "fairy tail", something completely out of the blue and miraculous, it needs a bit more. Federer and Nadal had fairy tail comebacks, going from being written off by fans and pundits alike and not playing at all for a couple of months to winning the first two slams of the season.

Djokovic has also had a remarkably easy ride so far, not one dangerous opponent in 4 rounds.

I'm pretty sure i have seen more womens matches on the centre court than mens this year.
There had been 2 men's and 1 women's match on centre every day of the tournaments (apart from today where they play different days from now on in)

It's definitely the commentary which puts me off the women's tennis, the commentators over exaggerate any half decent shot as if it was the greatest shot ever, or talk about a players forehand constantly, and the phrase "this is a great advertisment for women's tennis" not just tennis, but women's tennis. If it's a great match it surely is just a great advertisement for tennis.

Also, one of the women who commentates is definitely a wino. They do have some good ones, but it's some of the most recycled shite ever. Actually, most tennis commentary is shit and repetitive.

The women's game is definitely getting to a good level again now, there's a lot of variety in the players and playstyles which makes for interesting matches, also it's very open with serena out for now

British crowd are a joke. Not that it influenced the result, just a bit embarrassing there at the end.

What? Have you never watched the French open? Compared to those the Brits are excellent.

Also didn't the US crowd turn into super cnuts the other year for some reason?

Shouldn't they have replayed that last point? Poor from Barry White. Not a great advert for the WTA that Pliskova's up to number one having gone out in round two.

Yeah I have and I agree, other crowds being worse doesn't make them exempt from being criticised though. This year has definitely been worse than previous years in terms of crowd getting overly involved during points and it's not just been this match.

Maybe it'd just be easier to let crowds be loud all the time like football. You can't be put off your strokes if it's not a surprise!

Surely that should have been let and a replay point. That was ridiculous.

I thought that too, sure it's happened before? :/ Pretty sure Konta was going through anyway.
What happened?

I had money on Konta, though hoping for Venus to win it.

I wouldn't mind muguzura to win it...

Oh yeah, but the French crowd really is terrible. Don't know how some of the young kids aren't deterred by them.

Wimbledon crowds have been getting worse for a few years.

It certainly puts criticism of them in to perspective, though.

I believe they're sort of experimenting that at the Next Gen tournament this year. Though I'm not sure whether it's for noise as well or just allowing people to exit and enter their seats during the match as they please.

Interesting one.

I'm quite in favour of trying out things that could potentially end the nonsense of 'grunting' so that your opponent can't hear how well the ball hits your racket, though. Even if the answer is drowning everything out.

First British women into the semis since Virgina Wade in 1976 or whatever..... errr except she ain't British is she. She was born in Australia, both parents Hungarian lol. She's even represented AUS before she switched. She can represent Jupiter is she wants, but she aint from there. We'll claim anyone, especially in tennis where things were so desperate.

Can't wait till the day a decent female player and mens player both from England born and bread comes along, just to see how the commentators and media reacts.

Good player though, not a bad match.

She sounds pretty British, to me, when she talks.

Spent a lot of her time since her mid-teens not far from me, I believe.

Don't think there is anything to do with grunting. They're also having a strict count down of time between serves and no lets.

Forgive my ignorance but why does Konta designate as British? I mean in wimbledon it doesn't really matter as she's playing for herself but just interested.
