Tennis 2016

Final is on now. Murray a set down to Cilic. On serve in the second set at 3-3

First Masters 1000 title for Cilic. Beats Murray in straight sets, 6-4 7-5

It was clear Murray would lose now the next match after my post yesterday

Of course i've hoped Murray would win the final of Cincinnati but you can't blame him that he looked bit tired (after 14 matches in the last 15 days) and Cilic has also played just a brilliant match.

And by the way that was Murray's first defeat in a final to an opponent not-named Djokovic since Wimbledon 2012.

That's pretty incredible actually. Murray's been so unlucky to play in an era with Nadal, Federer and Djokovic.

Draw out for the US Open. Murray will be the most pleased out of the big guns. Decent draws from Djokovic and Nadal too. Stan has got shegged once again however.

Didnt even realise Federer is missing the US Open as well. Might well be the beginning of the end :(

Out for the rest of the year:( He's targeting the 2017 Aussie Open for his comeback..

The US Open are back!!!

And what a great win for Edmund against Gasquet (6-2 6-2 6-3) :) .....his next opponent (Escobedo) is beatable too.

Couldn't believe he beat Gasquet. Yes Richard was maybe a little injured, but still a tough opponent for Edmund. Good stuff.

Well Isner has struggled already in the First round against Tiafoe (No. 152) and must go against Darcis now in a 4th set.
It wouldn't be easy against Isner but he has a good chance to beat him.
Isner is a funny one isn't he? Yeah Edmund can beat either one, but if Isner gets through this match, then it would be a question of which Isner turns up - sometimes he's on fire but most times he's meh.
We'll see. Happy for Edmund though.

Was wondering Novak wasn't on. Turns out he got a walkover for R2

much easier for Novak now without Vesely and possibly Isner in his way.

Djokovic vs Pella or Youzhny in round 3, then Djokovic vs Isner or Edmund in round 4.

in QF he will most likely play against Cilic, so... pretty good draw.

Raonic currently 2-1 down to Harrison.

Will miss Nadal's match tonight, but fingers crossed he beats Seppi in straight sets

Rafa looking good. He also has a piss easy draw till the semis now that Raonic is out.

With his luck though he will probably get injured at some point.

Just seen a vid of when Konta collapsed. Everyone is just watching her for around 30 seconds before the umpire decides to do something ffs.

Haven't followed much tennis recently but I've got time this evening. Any suggestion which match I should watch?

Give the Murray match a watch. Not been watching him tonight, but looking at the stats, seems to have been a fairly competitive first set.

Just seen Delpo is through and Dan Evans beat Zverev last night

Djokovic's draw is about to get even easier with Cilic two sets down to Sock and Cilic playing terribly. Wonder if there's anyone in the draw who can do what he did in 2014, the big names look there for the taking.

I think Tsonga is in his quarter, so could still prove a tricky opponent.

Youzhny has had an injury time out already. Djoko issuing spells on his opponents?

Well that's that. Youzhny retires. Djokovic into round four. Novak has completed 4 sets so far this tournament (all in the first round).

Just read as well that Janowicz who Novak beat in the first round had only played 6 matches in 2016 prior to their first round match

Djokovic comes into the tournament with personal issues, fitness issues and bad form by his standards and gets 2 retirements to send him to the 4th round.

He'll just need one week of good tennis to win this GS, which you'd expect him to pull off. Unbelievable luck.

Janowicz is a wanker. Djokovic wasn't looking great in that match but Janowicz really gifted him the last two sets. Absolute 0 mental toughness. At some points he looked like he was tanking games, despite Djokovic looking terrible himself.

This isn't the first time he's given up on a match either. Terrible player.

Ah Janowicz, I had him down as a potential Slam winner, how wrong I was.

Edmund beats Isner! Bloody hell what a run the lad's having!

Murray just lost the second set to Lorenzi. Seems that Lorenzi served for the first set too, but Murray broke back and won the tiebreak.

Not watching, but not good signs for Murray.

Evans playing Stan now too.
