Who is the next big player then? Thiem has impressed me a lot in the French Open but the rest look hopeless

Thiem, Kyrgios, Zverev and Coric would be the most likely to be the next big 'star'

Can't see Kygrios making it. Haven't heard of the other two.
Coric hasn't done much of late, but has beaten Nadal and Murray in the past. Still 19 or 20

Zverev's biggest moment was missing an easy volley on match point against Nadal before going on to lose a few months ago. 19 again I believe.

Neither have done anything noteworthy in a slam unlike Kyrgios and Thiem but they are a bit younger.

Okay, cheers. Do any of them have the potential to reach the levels of those players? (Nadal, Federer and Djokovic)

I don't think so, but those three mentioned are all time greats, so would be asking a lot for them to reach such levels. All got good potential though and things can change quickly.

I probably rate Kyrgios highest out of the youngsters, but don't think he'll ever achieve greatness because I don't think he can hack it mentally.

Why can't you see Kyrgios making it? He has all the ability IMO. Will need to sort himself out mentally but if he does then he will definitely be top 5. As for whether any of these young players become the next Federer or Nadal or whatever it is unlikely. They're are legends.

He will throw it away because of his mentality.

Don't know how much of it was down to rustiness or injury but Federer looked shite all tournament, hope he can find some kind of form in time for Wimbledon.

Wimbledon appears to be coming to soon for him. Could see him struggling this year.

Just watching the tennis on sky sports and going by today's match, i haven't seen a more limited player than Ivo Karlovic. He has made a great career for himself due to a stunning serve (and nothing else).

With all the Brexit talk.

Wimbledon starting on Monday. Murray faces Broady in first round. Can play Fed or Djokovic only in the final, so a good draw for him.

Worry for Fed. He needs to survive the first week as I have a feeling he'd get knocked out early. He's not been great since returning from injury.

Djokovic is overwhelming favourite. But Murray with the Lendl factor is capable of beating him on grass.

Murray with Kyrgios in R4 is interesting. Very dangerous opponent assuming they both get that far. Djokovic has a harder path on paper IMO. But it depends a lot on what kinda shape Federer is in. Raonic will be a significant hurdle though.

Kyrgios has Stepanek in first round. I wouldn't be surprised if Stepanek goes through.

Well done Kyle Edmund :D
Yeah played really well from the bits I watched. Also played very well against Murray at Queens a few weeks back. Could be top 20-30 ranked player I think. Excellent result especially as we had no Murray.

Edmund had always the quality to beat Tipsarevic and Lajovic but how he has beaten them was impressive :)

If A.Murray plays against Argentina in September and it will be played at Wimbledon then a place in the final is dead certain.
A.Murray would win both matches + Double team should win easily too + Edmund would surely win at least one match on grass against Del Potro/Delbonis/Monaco.

Federer will miss the rest of the season because of the knee injury.

Sad times. Nadal's wrist is also not recovering as quickly as hoped. Seems as though he will play the doubles, at the most at the Olympics.

No shock......but Federer's career will be probably over in 15 months.

Nadal hitting with Murray in Mallorca this morning

The state of Dimitrov at the moment.

Just scrapped past some guy called Yuichi Sugita as well 6-4 in the 3rd. Interesting looking at his rankings decline:

He'll be out the top 50 pretty soon the way he's going.

Weird that. I read somewhere that he cancelled hitting with Murray because he wasn't readym

Murray brothers out to the Brazilian duo who played there absolute socks off. Well deserved.

Del Potro knocks out Djokovic.

Huge win for him. I'm sure Murray and Nadal are delighted too.

Good chance for Murray to get a second gold medal. Feel a bit sorry for Novak, clearly shattered.

Can't even say Nole played bad, Del Potro was massive and looked like the player before his injuries with his outstanding forehand.
Feel sorry for Nole, like Federer he will most likely never win the gold medal. Will be interesting if Del Potro can continue like that, he is capable of showing his level in a game, but usually can't play a week like that because of his injuries. He beat Stan in Wimbledon too, but then got kicked out the next round against a weaker player. Would be great to see if he can push the top players here. Bad luck for Nole getting him in the first round, especially if he can't continue like that in the second game.

Murray now very likely to get his second gold metal, like in Wimbledon he can only beat himself now. Competition is even weaker with Federer and Stan injured and players like Raonic, Berdych, Thiem, Gasquet, Isner or Krygios missing because without ranking points and prize money they don't give a feck about Olympics. Even Rafa has now a good chance for a medal, didn't think that was possible after he just came back from injury, but doesn't look impossible in his half now with Nole out.

Serena out too. One of Svitolina, Kvitova, Puig or Siegemund will make it to the final. Kerber and Keys on the other side favorites. Konta could trouble Kerber though.

Tsonga and Ferrer out too, good draw for Rafa now. Hardest game on his way to the final could be a fit Del Potro, otherwise it looks good for him.
