Tennis 2015

Very nice draw for Federer. Tough draws for Nadal and Djokovic. Hoping Nadal can bring back his good form, cause he will definitely need it.

Anyone of you been to any of the slams? I'm going to Wimbledon this year and would love to make the French Open next year. Only done a tiny bit of research, getting tickets for the other slams is typically easier than going to Wimbledon, right?

Nadal/Djoker quarters? The shame. It won't feel right Djokovic winning the career grand slam and not beating Nadal in the FINAL of RG to claim it. But at least he should beat him, as I can't see any stutter points prior to it for Nadal.

He withdrew like 2 days ago....before the draw was even made, so no -_-

I can't see Federer making the final, so it's a good opportunity for someone in that half of the draw. Nishikori maybe? Not been great so far this year, but he's got the ability to win it. Or maybe Wawrinka if he can consistently play like he did against Nadal in Rome.

Halep and her beautiful legs through to 2nd round, bit unconvincingly. Federer match starting now.

Anyone know any apps where you can get notifications for matches? On previous years and on other slams, on their official app, you can get match notifications from you favorite players. For some reason, on this years Roland Garros app, you can't. I'm kinda pissed off about this, so looking for an alternative as I won't be able to watch a chunk of the tournament due to exams.

Halys vs. Nadal - very boring match so far. Nadal is playing pretty bad for his standard, seldom gets good length into his strokes and Halys plays courageous but whenever he's in a good position to finish a point he nets it. Frustrating to watch.

Edit: Still gets one rebreak. "Only" 4:2 Nadal now

Djokovic had a terrible second set for his standards. He doesn't look happy at all.

Not watched any tennis but a couple of surprises today. Dimitrov out in R1 and Bouchard also out, though her form this year has been dismal this year.

Normally go to Wimbledon for a day. Ground tickets and watching some outside courts is all nice and easy at Wimbledon, and then you can queue in a nice orderly fashion for resale tickets of people who leave centre and court 1 early for a fiver. Got to see a Murray 4 setter in the 1st round on centre court under the roof like that a few years ago.

Henman Hill was horrible when Murray won though. Uncomfortable full of sweaty people, went and watched the men's wheelchair doubles final instead.

The queue is okay then? I considered it, but not sure I'd have anyone willing to stand in one with me

Provided there's no rain etc. I should see a few matches of the 4th round on court no.1. While I'd love to see Nadal, I just hope that I get to see at least one 'top' player (male or female) and I think I will come away happy.

Not a BIG surprise that. His French open record reads 1R, 2R, 3R, 1R, 1R from 2011-2015. It is about time he comes out of the shadows of big guns and gets his first title soon if he is to realize the potential. He is already 24 and big players generally do have at least couple of slams to their name by then. Right now Dimitrov's grand slam W-L record reads 23-19 with reaching QF stage or further just twice in 19 attempts.

It depends. We had no other option as we had gone after 5pm for the cheaper ground ticket, then it started raining so there was no tennis apart from centre! Got a bit lucky though that Murray lost the first set and didn't run away with it in an hour and a half so managed to see a couple of hours. Probably queued for an hour, saw Greg rudseski (sp.). There's always people leaving centre court early to travel back so just check the queue, I'd say it's worth it unless there's a great game on the outside courts.

Didn't realise his record was so bad at RG. Yeah, he;s getting to the stage where he's really got to show us something big. Not really done enough.

Oh right. Think I'll give that a try if I don't get any tickets in the ballot next year or even possibly this year if I can drag someone along.

Murray - Krygios on now. Lively start, both had a break each

Bit of downer it was in the end, Murray-Kyrgios. None of the youngsters are doing something special which makes one sit up & take notice. They seem talented but have too many errors in them. Or maybe it is that Federer-Nadal-Djokovic and to some extent Murray have taken our expectations at totally different level. After they retire,we might see return of an era where shocks for top seeds happen more often in Men's tennis.

Kinda hard to tell how well Nadal's playing considering the quality of his opponents... But I think he's looked pretty solid so far. Can't wait til he meets Djokovic, that's going to be a cracker.

High quality match going on between Azarenka and Serena.

Just tuned in(It's Match point to Serena).

I know it's been discussed a million times before but I still have no idea why the women don't 5 set's.

I wouldn't want to watch them play 5 sets. 3 is good enough. I can't think of many good 3 setters from women to even think it's a good idea for them to have them play 5 setter.

Had no idea Ivanovic was going out with Bastian Schweinsteiger!

WTF?!

He's just lost to Nadal, but the power on Jack Sock's forehand is simply incredible. Finally beginning to kick on.

Good quarters set up....though hugely ruined by the fact that heavyweight bout is in it. If Djoker wins, reckon Fed could scent a scalp at a double CGS, massively ask, but he clearly can't mentally beat Nadal, he knows he can go with Djoker. Still think Djokovic wins it though, but you know, it's a better final match up than anything else.

Tsonga a tough cookie for Federer as well, so yeah, it is a massive ask.

Nadal's mentality seems back there, but Djokovic is too much to just waste those errors from Nadal's game like Sock

Every year it seems Djoko's year when it comes to the French Open. In the past few years Nadal has come back from injuries and did not look as good or has lost a few against the Serb in the warm up gravel tournaments before the French but always won it in the end. He's beaten him six times there hasn't he and 3 times in the last 3 editions...
Can see him sweeping Djokovic away again even though the Serb seems to be painted as the favorite again.

Nadal had time to build his momentum by a top match before Djoker, this time there's no gradual barrier as such, so it may not favor him this time

Ana Ivanovic can actually play some nice tennis. She'd up up there at the top if she just wasn't so erratic. She's weird (but hot).

Federer being blown away by Stan at the minute, and it sounds like Tsonga's cruising about Nishikori. Can't help but feel the final is going to a bit one-sided if it's one of those two against Djokovic or Nadal.

Stan playing well against Federer. Been a good match so far.

Can't wait for tomorrow!
