Telegraph Investigation: England Manager Sam Allardyce For Sale | Big Sam leaves England job

Corruption starts right from the top. You can't tell me that the people from the FA don't have any idea in what goes on. Something needs to be done.
When Big Sam was appointed my first thought was it'll take no longer than 4-5 months before he gets sacked because of allegations of corruption. It turns out he'll be sacked before the weeks out.
What next for the national side? If it has to be a English national as England manager then there are very few options. It's a sad state of affairs that there are so few English managers managing at the highest level. Howe's probably the best English manager, but he lacks experience. Maybe they could get that bloke at Bayern Munchen to team up with Howe.
Anyway, the footballing nation only 2nd in size to Brazil, really needs to sort itself out and has being needing to do so since 1966. Even BHS hasn't been run as badly as English football has over the past 50 years. If it had been run even half competently England would have had 3-4 World Cups by now.

This is right up there with the Sven Goran Eriksson News of the world sting with the fake sheikh. The FA backed Eriksson then, so it will be interesting to see what they do now.

In Sam's defence, I read that he did say that he would have to clear this arrangement with the FA.

I don't really care what happens with this because I believe that if Sam Allardyce is our best hope as England manager, we are going nowhere.
Save us Fatty Sam Kenobi you're our only hope.

 Oh Sam

This is pretty big. Can't see how they'll just ignore this.

What a fecking idiot, he finally lands his dream job, and then gets sacked after one game because of shit like this.

It's not altogether surprising as there have long been rumours about him and I can fully imagine his ego getting the better of him as he shows off after a few drinks. But the episode also highlights once again the destructive role of the UK press and why no one with better options would go near the England job. Sam (and Sven before him) might lack judgement but I doubt their peers in other European nations are subjected to entrapment scenarios by fake sheiks and "Asian businessmen".

But is it better to just sweep it under the carpet?

Think everyone's making a bit more of it than what's really there, especially considering the whole thing was set up to sting him in the first place it's hardly a massive scandal.

There's something about the media setting someone up and then releasing that footage to crucify him that I just can't stand. Not saying Big Sam wasn't wrong to say the things he said, but I'm sure lots of folk say much worse things in what they believe are private conversations.

So it's the press' fault that the people are indulging themselves in corrupt activities? I wish "entrapment" like this happen in any other countries tbh.

Also I'm not sure if people have read the article. He won't be getting sacked for calling Roy Woy or something like that, he'll be sacked for circumventing the rules.

Eh? This wasn't just a random shot in the dark, they received information indicating his dodgyness prior to the sting.

So you're disappointed we haven't hired more bent managers in the past then?

Haha, he is a big idiot. Should have taken the job seriously and kept his mouth shut.

People do stupid things when they are trying to show-off. He is definitely going to lose the respect of his players. Not that it matters much as results on the pitch would remain same.

One game sam
One game sam
One game sam
Wham bam bam,
You going back to Sunderland

No, I just can't get too worked up about Sam being a fool and liking a few readies. The game is awash with money and subject to very poor regulation. We all know that. Even our own great manager had a few family skeletons in the cupboard (he never did sue Panorama despite the bluster). There are much bigger issues to investigate in football and this just strikes me as a cheap sting worthy of a tabloid.

No more honest and hardworking hoof the ball football from England then?

Neville is prob. already tired of MNF. Good thing a vacant spot is about to be open.

I always quite liked Sam and had a feeling the press would turn on him a lot faster than most England managers. Then he said that he can't tell Rooney what to do and apparantly he backed Brexit so I'm not too fussed now what they do.

FA will want to avoid anything dodgy, need to get someone clean as a whistle in, what's Harry Redknapp's number...

Ah Harry, another talented, hardworking and honest English manager.

  • Another high-profile manager admitted his players broke FA rules by betting on their own games but he failed to report it
Wouldn't matter much if they bet on their team's win. But anything else is quite dodgy...

If it was a better manager there'd undoubtedly be more thought about his position, but it's only Sam Allardyce. He'll get bounced, and is not worth the effort trying to defend him.

Back at Sunderland before Christmas.

They are not allowed to bet on any football.

He's the nations manager and before he had even played a game he was organising meetings to inform agents how to get around regulations set in place by his new bosses created to protect the wellbeing of players. You don't see this as an issue?
This isn't the press being 'destructive', this is exposing serious failings of a man paid millions to manage our national team.

He just said that you could do business not that the players could remain under third party ownership in England.

He is just saying what is possible not circumventing any rule that I know of. How did we get Rojo?

The rest of his comments just show that he is sensible enough about the FA. That is a recommendation for Allardyce.

The players better be hoping that their issues were just psychological since the alternative would be worse to contemplate.

As for Woy not being a public speaker. Isn't it obvious?

Oh dear me!! I feel for David Moyes.

You know, there is a small tribe in my country that believes that if you step on the shadow of a black cat on a full moon, bad luck will follow you in everything you do. I believe this has happened to Moyes.

United was perfect for him but he soon found out that he was not perfect for united.

Real sociedad was a perfect rebound team. Away from the prying English media. But he found out his' learn spanish in a week' CD had exegerrated on the simplicity of the task.

But now, now he has a good Moyes team. A team that is used to failure. If he can be given time time, with the help of Paddy Mcnair and Donald Love, I am sure he believes he can turn them into Everton . Now this!!!

Sunderland would be trigger happy in sacking Moyes if Big Sam was available. Moyes knows this as well. How unlucky can one be.

The only remedy to this curse4 if I remember correctly involves a skunk's left testicle, a tooth from a rabbit, a green female chameleon and dancing under a full moon next a waterfall.

We'll never do well under Big Sam.

If he's sacked for this, who can England get?

Might be a good shout actually.

It's his dream job because top clubs wouldn't consider hiring this idiot as manager. Lets face it, England wouldn't consider him either if he wasn't English

Italy is tougher on that regard than the UK. Calciopoli and the totonero scandals shook the Serie A and hit talent/clubs which were much more important to the Italian national team/FA then frigging Bog Sam
