They're not going to be able to replace a player of his level in his prime for anything like a reasonable fee because anyone who is proven will go for a similar amount. The replacement isn't a guarantee to settle in and perform at his level either. I don't see why Dortmund would sell him at that fee in this current market. He's got a contract until 2020, they hold all the cards.

They never replace their established talent with established talent anyway. They are a very well run club in finding hidden talent.

Indeed. However, Auba apparently is not happy at all those players leaving which means Dortmund is a weakened. He apparently had talks with management over this.

I wouldn't blame him for not being happy. But from Dortmunds point of view to lose 3 top players and to then let one go who they don't have to seems unwise.

Unless they have just accepted 2nd in the bundesliga is the best they can hope for and that can be achieved with lesser players.

They won't have problems with FFP. New TV money, Champions league and not to mention we've spent much more money than they did last few seasons.

But we make much more money with our sponsorship deals (addidas and chevrolet) which is why FFP is no problem for us. Tv money is more or less the same for all PL clubs and the extra of the CL money doesn't allow spending in the magnitude of £80m for 1 player, together with what they have spend on Gundogan that would be like the majority of their spending room gone on 2 transfers.

------------De Gea-------------
Bailly - Smalling - Manolas - Shaw
-----Schneiderlin - Matic-------
--------------Pjanic-----------
Rashford - Ibrahimovic - Martial

Manager: José Mourinho

We'd break all kinds of defensive records and Pjanic+Ibra would bring a lots of goals and creativity into the team.

The "Zlatan waits for loyalty bonus" stories are in all papers, so I reckon someone has briefed them... Telegraph running with it as well.

This is utter bullshit! His contract is up at the end of the season, or whatever date 30 June, say, he's earnt his bonus already. He is free to sign & announce whatever he decides to do next, PSG can't suddenly say he can't have his bonus, it's bullshit.

This is what I'm thinking. I don't understand how us announcing a contract due to start in July 2017 would hamper his bonus of staying with PSG until June 2017. He's a free agent when his contract ends, so whether he signs now or in 2 weeks time is surely immaterial to bonus?

AS: "James is not for sale". United, City and PSG asked for him directly or through Mendes, but all received the same answer. AS reckon Zidane would put him on the market and James doesn't want to sit on the bench any longer, but Real also need him for commercial reasons in South America ( :wenger:).

That actually makes me sick.

If we are after a DM we would get just as good \ better for a lot cheaper with Krychowiak from Sevilla.

He is both a lot quicker than Matic, and a way better header of the ball. Purely defensive though, will never amount to much going forward.

El Confidencial: United interested in signing Bale and have 'reserved' up to €120m for the operation (fee only). It seems they are refering to their own sources, but also state that a transfer is unlikely to impossible as long as Bale doesn't state he wants out.

Yay, the Bale rumours commence. Get in!

Real's mouthpiece Marca just want some club to pay the ridiculous figues being thrown around for Morata – in this case I bet they are just making things up. €60m for Morata
Don't worry, Arsenal or Chelsea will get sucked into that one

Meh, I'm not too concerned. Aubameyang isn't better than Aguero and they are both suited to the lone striker position. If they put Aubameyang at RW, he'll be shite and if they play both in a 4-4-2 then KDB and/or Silva will either play on the wing or be benched. Both players will be compromised and that will have an impact on them going forwards. Besides, their issues are still at the back and in midfield. As we showed during that brief glimpse at the start of 14/15, we can have as many world class attackers as we want, but if the guts aren't in order, we won't be going anywhere...
Keep telling yourself that, bud.

Anyone on here who thinks there's any truth in the rumours of Matic wanting a reunion with Mourinho?

Didn't they fell out a bit at the end of José's tenure at Chelsea?
