Summer Transfer Tweets 2016

Read yesterday that Vermaelen could also leave, with clubs from the Premier League interested. Who'd be interested in that crock? He makes Hargreaves look like a brick wall.

If LVG was still the manager he'd be all over that, finally a left footed CB! And I'm pretty sure he tried to sign him for us once already?

The philosophy vibes would be so strong he'd feel as giddy as a pedo stuck on the spinning teacups at Disneyland.

It isn't going to happen, he does not want to leave Real. Why would he? I get sick of this one every summer.

This. I suspect this story keeps popping up as we've probably told Bale's entourage 'Listen, we're not going to bid for you but we're ready to bid if you feel like leaving Madrid'. So then we do our annual check up on him and move along but the media keep riding the wave.

 It shall be fantashtic

Marquinhos on his future

“There is always speculation and I have a contract with PSG until 2019, but my situation is in discussion,” Marquinhos said.

“For me, the important thing is to have the confidence of the club and the manager. Then, we have to assess the project.”

Meh, I'm not too concerned. Aubameyang isn't better than Aguero and they are both suited to the lone striker position. If they put Aubameyang at RW, he'll be shite and if they play both in a 4-4-2 then KDB and/or Silva will either play on the wing or be benched. Both players will be compromised and that will have an impact on them going forwards. Besides, their issues are still at the back and in midfield. As we showed during that brief glimpse at the start of 14/15, we can have as many world class attackers as we want, but if the guts aren't in order, we won't be going anywhere...
Aubameyang will be a huge success.

£60m seems about right for me. Top player obviously and has gone 1 in 3, 1 in 2 and almost 1 for 1 in the last 3 seasons so the trajectory is promising for another big season. 27 next week - I'd want another season of big numbers for a world record fee.

Can someone who is a Spanish speaker please translate?

EDIT: Nevermind. Mourinho going for Moratta 60m Euros

Ridiculous, £55 million is a joke figure to be discussing in the context of Auba and Dortmund.

His contract is not running down and BVB have already sold Hummels and Gundogan this summer so have no financial obligation to sell.

Why would they accept such an amount?

The UK papers are clueless to both what is happening in regard to transfers and also seemingly any vague idea of the market value of players.

When considering the whole situation £75-80 minimum would seem a conservative estimate to tempt BVB to sell.

£55m on paper

probably another £35m that finds its way in Dortmund Pockets through various dubious constructions set up by that oil club

They can afford to pay whatever Dortmund is asking, only problem is the figure on the contract that goes in the books can't be too big because they will have problems with FFP

Real's mouthpiece Marca just want some club to pay the ridiculous figues being thrown around for Morata – in this case I bet they are just making things up. €60m for Morata

They won't have problems with FFP. New TV money, Champions league and not to mention we've spent much more money than they did last few seasons.

They would simply reload with all the cash they would get from their transfers. You could probably build a club from the ground up with what they may get for Aubameyang alone.

What with £55m-£60m (the figure widely quoted by many reliable papers)? That builds a club nowadays does it?

I think it would be closer to 70 but to answer your question....yes, for example over time, you could build the spine of the Premier League champions.

Jamie Vardy - £1,000,000 19
Shinji Okazaki - £7,000,000
N'Golo Kante Caen £5,600,000
Leonardo Ulloa - £8,000,000
Danny Simpson QPR Signed
Christian Fuchs Schalke Free
Robert Huth Stoke £3,000,000
Shinji Okazaki Mainz £7,000,000
Riyad Mahrez Le Havre £560,000

Yes of course Leicester city are clearly an example that can be followed and not an anomaly at all. Have you seen the going rate for average/even unproven players nowadays? You know well that a team like Dortmund won't have the years it'll take to rebuild by taking punts on players like Leicester, they would need to go after a different caliber of players and that comes at a high cost. Selling their best player in this market for £60m is a stupid move.

Okazaki twice there. :)

Unless they have the replacement lined up.

And Mkhitaryan rejecting a new contract leaving him in a position to move as well.

Yeah forgot about that one. Very strange if they lose 3 of their top players and then willingly sell arguably their best player on top of that.

In the prem it would be pretty hard unless you do a leicester; but when you think what players seem to move around for outside the prem. I don't see why not. Dortmund have already got Dembele, Bartra, Rode, all pretty cheap.

Even if you discount the Leicester example - there are loads of quality under the radar players that can be bought from smaller clubs at very good prices. Dortmund themselves are very good at this. 60m could get about 4 good players and that's not counting what they bring in from additional transfers.

Indeed. However, Auba apparently is not happy at all those players leaving which means Dortmund is a weakened. He apparently had talks with management over this.

They're not going to be able to replace a player of his level in his prime for anything like a reasonable fee because anyone who is proven will go for a similar amount. The replacement isn't a guarantee to settle in and perform at his level either. I don't see why Dortmund would sell him at that fee in this current market. He's got a contract until 2020, they hold all the cards.
