We're not seriously being linked to any right sided attackers, not with the same intent we are central defenders and central midfielders, I wonder if Jose could be looking at converting Valencia back to a winger...

We weren't being linked with Bailly at all until a few days ago. It seems that the press have absolutely no idea who we're in for and are just flinging as much shit at the wall as possible to cover their bases. Except Zlatan, everybody and their dog has know about that for months.

Says Juve could be bringing in both Pjanic and Kovacic.

As Emery seems almost done, Bouhafsi says PSG are still in for Simeone.

Wait, so who is the big star moving from Germany to England now? Between the total BS and possible BS I'm losing track.

Aubamayang > City. It's only been denied by nobodies on Twitter, seems on :(

That Guardian article says £55m, another pretty good price too if true!

Guardian joining in.

Ridiculous, £55 million is a joke figure to be discussing in the context of Auba and Dortmund.

His contract is not running down and BVB have already sold Hummels and Gundogan this summer so have no financial obligation to sell.

Why would they accept such an amount?

The UK papers are clueless to both what is happening in regard to transfers and also seemingly any vague idea of the market value of players.

When considering the whole situation £75-80 minimum would seem a conservative estimate to tempt BVB to sell.

It's difficult to see BVB letting Hummels, Gundogan and Aubameyang leave in the same transfer window.

If City do get him though, they will be a force to be reckoned with on an offensive front.

Say they get Auba and a couple of other first team signings - how do they stay clear of FFP? I guess the whole process is a joke that can be manipulated at will.

Juve try to get Benatia

Would this mean they might be open to let Bonucci go?

Barzagli is 35 and Chiellini will be 32 before the season starts, so it's understandable they're trying to bring in a CB.

El Confidencial: United interested in signing Bale and have 'reserved' up to €120m for the operation (fee only). It seems they are refering to their own sources, but also state that a transfer is unlikely to impossible as long as Bale doesn't state he wants out.

Definitely. Watzke said they'd start to consider offers when they hit the region of €100-120 million.

As long as they have sponsorship deal with Etihad they can fiddle everything.

Sport: Barcelona are trying to sign Mauricio Lemos, 20-yo centre-back from UD Las Palmas. Fee: €8m and €4m add-ons, they might also throw in a player from Barca B.

Read yesterday that Vermaelen could also leave, with clubs from the Premier League interested. Who'd be interested in that crock? He makes Hargreaves look like a brick wall.

AS: "James is not for sale". United, City and PSG asked for him directly or through Mendes, but all received the same answer. AS reckon Zidane would put him on the market and James doesn't want to sit on the bench any longer, but Real also need him for commercial reasons in South America ( :wenger:).

 Yes please.

The guy will be 27 at the start of the season. He has only scored over 20 league goals in a season and 30 overall once. His record before that was pretty much 1 in 2 throughout his senior career.

£75-80m in insane money for that. He isn't even a 'superstar' who brings a big off field commercial reputation.

Meh, I'm not too concerned. Aubameyang isn't better than Aguero and they are both suited to the lone striker position. If they put Aubameyang at RW, he'll be shite and if they play both in a 4-4-2 then KDB and/or Silva will either play on the wing or be benched. Both players will be compromised and that will have an impact on them going forwards. Besides, their issues are still at the back and in midfield. As we showed during that brief glimpse at the start of 14/15, we can have as many world class attackers as we want, but if the guts aren't in order, we won't be going anywhere...

He's worth an awful lot for Dortmund though, who would find it incredibly difficult in this market to find an adequate replacement. Furthermore, they have already lost Hummels and Guendogan and have no need for money. Aubameyang can be the difference between going far in the Champions League and challenging Ancelotti's Bayern (Ancelotti isn't the best league manager), so why should they sell for any less than a world record fee? Makes no sense from their perspective, considering he has a contract until 2020.
