I hate transfer periods! :mad: I just hope we ship out and bring in nice and early this season with the minimum of fuss. So long as we hang on to DDG of course.
 
So this Bailly guy seems to be the real deal, hey? I hadn't even heard of him until a few hours/tweets ago, but I'm all for it. I'm in full muppet-mode by now. Strong, physical and quick? Splash the cash.
 
So we went from "we're getting him according to everyone" to "trying to sign him up"

I can't pretend to be disappointed since I think I saw him play once, but still kind of a let down :(

You do know the story is that Guardiola and Messi didn't really get on towards the end of their time working together.

And Messi confirmed last year that he and Pep hadn't spoken in years.

Did not know this at all, always assumed they got on swimmingly. Do you have a source?
 


De Gea thinks Real won't use clause and buy him for €50m until June 15th. There has been no contact so far between Madrid and the player or Mendez; Perez still wants him, but Zidane prefers Navas.

Sorry is this meaning the €50m clause expires June 15th or they won't actually start bidding until the June 15th?

Think this is dead in the water. The only way this happens is before the 15th and that doesn't look like happening. Judging from his latest comments, he's not waiting for them also.

Clause to buy him for a fixed amount of €50m expires on June 15.... thankfully Zidane prefers Navas. De Gea wants his future to be resolved before Spain's first EURO group stage game.
 
Doubt it's anywhere close to dead in the water. Comments about not thinking Real Madrid will activate the clause could just as well be about public pressure from player and agent to get Real Madrid to step in. It's not as if he's stated that he wants to stay. it's still 10 days to go, and we all know how quickly things can change. Odds are still that he's fecking off to Spain

Zidane wants Keylor Navas to stay though and so do the Real supporters I talked to... Real need reinforcements in other areas as well, I'm not sure even Perez would spend €50m in a position they don't really need anyone in. Well, to be fair it's Real Madrid, you never know what kind of stupid move comes next...

I dunno what to think about this move. Zidane stated he's happy with Navas and no doubt he'll be their manager next year but Perez is an absolute cnut.

There were rumours flying around a few years back that Messi was being petulant in training and undermining Pep, i remember one about interrupting him during a team talk to ask for a drink or something similar. Don't know how true the specifics are but i think there was enough gossip to believe they were at least not on the best of terms on a personal level towards the end.
 
Not that it will ever happen ... but didn't Zlatan already leave one team because he hated the team being build around Messi not him?
