BVB want to challenge with the best. Not replacing one of their major players with proper quality is a big risk, especially since they also lost Gundogan and one or two forwards may follow during the transfer window.
They're at a point where they can buy without selling. Keeping or bringing the best players must be a higher priority than making a profit.
I agree, but Bartra isn't a bad player. He's had limited chances, sure. But its a win win for Bartra and BVB. Bartra plays without pressure of big fee or the standards expected at Barca. For BVB, they know that it's a cheap deal so they have nothing to lose financially
Vardy wouldn't improve them significantly imo.
