I actually think he'd be a good signing for Liverpool. Like Mané, I think Klopp can turn him into a very good player.
He played against Ireland a few years ago and was rubbish. No idea if that's just how he is, or we dragged him down to our level.
Wijnaldum is quality and I'd take him here as an alternative to Pogba if it comes to that. Great strength, skill, speed and has goals in him. Proper box to box.
Wijnaldum is very, very far from quality. He is more certainly not a central midfielder either.
He was crap last year for Newcastle.

I quite like how Klopp thinks that this is the Bundesliga and he has time to rebuild them and is also pressure free. Their fans gotta love these players they are getting. In my opinion they need at least one big name player to lift them up.
So that's Matip, Karius, Mané and Wijnaldum for Liverpool so far. That's a pretty mediocre set of transfers if you ask me, they would be pretty "meh" signings for a team like Everton or West Ham, let alone Liverpool. They will not break into the top 4 with midtable players.

He was impressive for the first half of he season I think, great energy from the middle. From what I gather, Newcastle fans seem to think they should have better players than both Wijnaldum and Sissoko, in which case they are fecking deluded.
There is a reason they are asking for £25m+ for each of them, and not £6m.

Wijnaldum, like Sissoko, is good on his day. But their day comes about once a season, and in the meantime you have to put up with 37 games of shite. Newcastle fans want players that are bothered, the most popular player back end of the season was Lascelles.

I doubt it, this isn't some up and coming centre back. He's a 30 year old Augsburg defender, he's being brought in to replace Kolo Toure's role as backup.

I didn't know that was how transfers worked. Just add £12m profit on top, regardless of how the player has performed or whether they are useless. We should try a similar approach with Mata and Fellaini.
