I didn't know that was how transfers worked. Just add £12m profit on top, regardless of how the player has performed or whether they are useless. We should try a similar approach with Mata and Fellaini.
Difference is Newcastle are reluctant to sell and there are clubs interested in their players. We're pretty much stuck on both counts.

Well the first line of your sentence is a very important difference indeed, and usually doesn't apply to useless players. That's the point.

I like Wijnaldum. Liverpool are going for players that suit them well, even if they share some similarities. He obviously isnt a real alternative to Pogba, but he will still be a good player for them. Being shite for Newcastle is the norm nowadays, like there exists a player that would be good for them week in week out. Can play the 8, 10 and semi wing position.

How is he a bad fit for United compared to Matuidi? We don't need either IMO but if we are going for a ground covering ball hunter who is defensively aware then I don't see any reason to opt for the older guy from another league.
Hypothecally getting Matuidi would let us get something out of Carrick or Bastian for one more season before we can find a better #6. Getting. Kante meaning we need to buy a different #6 right way in the mold of Matic, Krychowiak... to offer presence in midfield and more mobility to cover if Kante gets too drawn into action, OR change the Mourinho's set up to something like Porto diamond without wingers and a lone striker. In this case, Kante plays the Pedro Mendes role, and we still need to buy #8!

Below is different way how Mourinho park the bus (his defensive philosophwhich all his team build on). Pay attention to the central midfield line

Now look at how Leicester set up (trap for their opponent full backs). Very different with. Kante was allow a more ball chasing role.

Matuiei is more similar to Khedira that they both cover. Lot of ground, but also offer great presence when asked to stay compact. Kante's biggest asset his workrate. If being asked to sit deep then he's handicapped. His tactical discipline and anticipation is not on Makelele level. It's known Mourinho was not too keen on Makelele's physique but due to his exceptional tactical usefulness, had to compromise.

Waiting until Madrid gets money together would make sense. Could easily be why nothing has happened, and seems like one of the two likely outcomes of sagas like these for top name players in their prime who we're after (join Madrid/Barca/Bayern or stay at their club until one of the above come along.

There's no reason Kante can't do any of the things tactically shown in the vids, it's just a case of him following the instruction of the manager, likewise Schneiderlin could also just do the role of Matudi, he'd be a completely pointless buy.

Watch Kante with France where he is asked to be more of holding role, he failed. He left passing angle and area open. Pogba had to do do Matuidi role when Kante came on because Kante's lac of presence. Still Kante had moment when he got drawn to wing despite his role is to hold the area before the defensive line. This is why Pogba had to sacrifice and play the whole final game at holding role.

Not entirely agree with this video, but you can still see how Matuidi and Pogba do in their roles for most part. Then watch Kante with little minutes still got peeled off to the wing in an occasion or 2 (his Leicester role). Notice the lack of presence when Kante came on

I'm not disagreeing with you in terms of right now, but Kante has not played the role for all that long when Deschamps thrust him into it, and he did well in the first couple of group games so there's no reason he can't evolve. At any rate the Kante part can be put aside as he moved to Chelsea. My point is Schneiderlin can fulfill the Matuidi workhorse role, we don't need him, we need a dynamic, creative CM.

I agree. That's why I think Pogba is vital signing so Mourinho can build something solid. Going to Matuidi, Kante, Schneiderlin is only stop gap fix and as well as risky. My point is if going to that route, Matuidi is safer than Kante for our need (need time to learn the role). Let's end this discussion here.

Cool, we are mostly on the same page mate, fingers crossed that we get the Pogba deal done.

Especially since Pogba was in LA. That's basically almost AS backwards. Coincidence...?

Of course not. He had dinner with Zlatan to inform him that he wasn't interested in a move to United and that he wanted Ed to stop sending him messages on Bebo. Heard it here first, BREAKING and all that jazz.

lol

Because they play in the championship and he is good for that level. If they sell him, they need to replace him which they won't be able to given the condition Newcastle are in.

He really isn't anything special. He was their main focus during attack and most attacking moves went through him. Which is why he scored 11 and which is also why Newcastle were relegated.

Hah, I know this guy personally. Grew up with him and played football with him for many years. The rumours of him to Real Madrid are quite simply not true.

And he's not even 21 ffs

Nice one, i bet you were better than him in football lol

Mentions that Fellaini will stay

Fellaini offers something different. Good in defensive situations if you are closing a game out. Good from set pieces. I think Mata and young (especially with Valencia at full back), need to up their productivity. Young especially - should be getting into double figures for assists and goals but isn't happening. Works hard but not enough quality to make it count.

Young has barely had a run of games. He was our best winger in LVG's first season and is miles ahead of Depay/Lingard. Plays like he's far younger than he is too.

according to wiki, 108 games in 5 years. I don't get why we got rid of Nani for young.

Marca and AS with different views. The great Real Madrid conspiracy of mindfecking with everyone.
