Weird that Chelsea doesn't get the hint, at least as it is portrayed in the various news feeds/tweets/etc. Naingollain doesn't want to go to CFC, but still they insist on asking & bidding. Are they actually bidding or is it all just an agent's ruse?

Real Madrid have never needed to sell in order to buy. They could spend £100m on Pogba no problem if they wanted to. They're as wealthy as we are.

how much do they honestly think Morata is worth. I can understand selling James to help facilitate, but Morata surely can't be worth that much.

Will be gutted if Arsenal get draxler. And let's hope Germany won tonight so we can find out what Pogba wants to do once and for all.

Papers were throwing around £55m at the start of the Euros I'm sure.

15 million for Jordon fecking Ibe and we basically gave Nani away for nothing. I know Ibe's English, but fecking hell...

I remember when Liverpool sold Sterling the scousers kept saying how they aren't worried because Jordon Ibe is going to be the better player anyway:lol:
Haha I remember @Dumbstar here especially saying that

It boggled my mind then, and it boggles still to this day. I've never once seen anything but an avearage higher Championship/lower Prem level player in him. I call him the tractor, cos all he does is run in straight lines.

I think we sold our key Fergie era players for small amounts to facilitate them to go where they wanted. I think lazio or someone for instance had a decent amount bid for rvp so if we negotiated we could have really sold him for a decent amount but he wanted to go there so we didn't bother about the fee. I think I read something like this back then. Else I don't think they would have had any problem getting decent money from them when they got 6m for buttner and 2m for Bebe

Coz he had 5 good games at the end of the season at WB and sterling didn't :p

I think Vangle was desperate to get rid of them (especially Nani) and that's why we didn't get bigger fees. Their salaries played a part as well, but we really should have gotten much more money.

It seems Real can't compete and have pulled put of the race for Pogba.

But we got very good money for welbeck and Evans who weren't key during a lot of Fergie years. even though we wanted to rid of them. But We terminated Fletcher s contract so that he could transfer for free and let evra go for pittance even though he was under contract. Even Anderson though I think that's probably for the best :p

Got it right on Sterling and wrong on Ibe. £65m for the pair of them will help me get over it.

This is what I expected. What's happened thus far was Raiola and Juve trying to drive up the price with claims that we're bidding £100m and he "is set to sign". The whole time, Pogba wants Madrid and it's just a matter of money.

Now we have Madrid trying to lower the price by claiming they are being priced out, in the hope that Pogba will say he'll only go to Madrid and they'll have to accept a lower offer.

The next thing to happen will be a battle between Juve and Madrid over how much they pay. Pogba will wait and see, but if it is coming towards the end of the window I expect he'll eventually say he'll only go there, to drive down the price and get it done.

Otherwise, Juve will succeed in convincing Madrid that he's considering going elsewhere and Madrid will have to come up with the cash. They can easily get extra funds from selling Morata, James etc.

I just hope we can see what's going on and have alternatives.

That's because they're home-grown. I even think we could have gotten more money for Welbeck.

The Nani sale still bugs me to this day, to be honest. Our attacking play on the right wing wouldn't have been as ponderous and ineffective with him in the side. Vangle just gave him away for next to nothing and we ended up with Lingard as a regular starter.

It was a ridiculous decision then and it still is now. We could have kept Nani at the club and still complete the Di Maria/Memphis/Martial deals as none of them was meant to play on the right. Surely any decent manager would know that Nani is a much better option than Januzaj, Mata and Lingard on the right? Especially when Vangle never stopped complaining about the lack of speed and quality in our attacks.

This really sums up Vangle's tenure for me. A long list of clueless, inadequate decisions.

Anyways, sorry for derailing the thread.
