AS report that we have made a €120m euro bid for Pogba and are in negotiations but these are the same guys that thought that we would be getting Bale atleast a thousand times.

Does that include the sum being paid to Raiola as well?

Wow if true though. Would be surprised if Juventus rejected that.

L'Equipe: PSG in advanced talks with AZ for Janssen, and still following Lacazette.

Are these the strikers you think you will end up with? I haven't really seen much links from PSG to any strikers bar Lacazette which seemed odd.

I don't know if that includes the sum. Maybe the situation will be clearer in the morning.

€120 million is an astonishing amount of money but even if Juve accept would Pogba even want to come? That's my concern.

Any sign of this from AS yet?

He's done nothing in Madrid for 2 years. Only sealed that move due to a good World Cup. I'd rather we go for someone else for that kind of money. Doubt he'd be a good prem player due to his size too.

Hmm funny since everybody was raving about Verratti not so long ago who is even smaller?? I would be over the moon if we managed to bag Rodriguez. These are the type of players we should be aiming for...leave the Schneiderlins, Fellainis etc. to the Evertons, West Hams and Southamptons.

We will likely trust Cavani as our main striker next year. None of the genuine top strikers seem available but Janssen and Lacazette could be good backup/competition.

The other option is to have a top quality goalscoring AM also able to play as a striker.

We had a real exceptional talent in Ronaldo though, most of the players we are talking about are good players just looking to improve their careers with an upwards move, and most clubs get that and have a strong cycle of ins and outs that keep the club moving along well, like Atletico who have lost 4 top strikers over the last decade and have actually gotten stronger as a team.
Fair play with that example, however history shows that you can't continue like this forever. More importantly, only the future will tell whether a departure of their world star Simeone will harm them or they are simply that good and can replace him or anyone without much hassle. Maybe he's their answer to Ronaldo, their ying to yang. This time it's not the player, it's the coach. We'll see, mate.

It's always depending on the state of the club. For United Ronaldo was the exceptional talent, but for Aston Villa Benteke was the star man. From my knowledge a lot of clubs suffer after the loss of a such a talent. I simply wouldn't take the risk when it's not necessary. We're still talking about a football club, i take talent over money, but perhaps i'm a bit delusional, i know that some clubs have been run like a business. :( Agree to disagree!

If Jose has is sights set on Ibra, Mkhitaryan, James, and Pogba, I only see two options for Rooney. Bench or out.

£50m is a correct price for James. I would say: yes please.

I actually think 40 million pounds is fair. The guy hasn't been that good this year and is putting on weight. I also don't want us funding the purchase of pogba for madrid.:o

I'd say 40m. When we pronounce him 'Hames' he's 50m, but we all know he's called James so that automatically knocks 10m off.

We can't hire someone better than James with that amount of money, to be honest. Keep in mind that he only has 24 years, too.

Latino lad that is vocal about not wanting to leave Madrid. We should be steering well clear of him.

Ibra, Smalling, Carrick, Pogba, Bailly and Fellaini....we should do well on set pieces

Pogba won't come here. I'm sure his dream is to play for Barca/Madrid and he would rather wait for another year than sign a 5 year contract in England. Only chance to sign him is if Madrid get banned from transfers till 2018 and Barca are not interested at all. Even then the chance might be not that great, City and Bayern might intevene etc. Chances are it won't happen. This summer he will sign for Madrid or stay at Juve.

Thanks for clearly explaining it for us all.
