I get your point mate, I just value loyalty over ambition but that's just personal preference. Dortmund tend to keep hold of their players and hold out for maximum value rather than bowing down to player demands, but in Koulibaly's situation the whole suing for damages is ridiculously extreme. De Laurentiis clearly has a few unresolved issues.

I can appreciate the loyalty as well, it's a rare thing these days sadly, but as mentioned in another post, the clubs treat players as simply business assets if it suits them. I think the key thing is for clubs to realize their position and find a model that gets the most from it, teams like Porto, Sevilla and even Atletico to an extent have done so, and Juve rebuilt with a great deal of shrewd maneuvering.

If Dortmund want a replacement attacker we should sell them Mata or throw Memphis into the Mkhitaryan deal.

50m sounds good for him. It's the sun, so it isn't true, but I hope their guesswork is correct.

I think he will leave Real Madrid and in truth I can only see us or PSG buying him, it will be interesting to see how it plays out, he still has his best years ahead of him.

Every player that signs at a club signs for 4 years at least, most sign 5 year deals, but most clubs understand where they stand in the football world and act accordingly, making sure to get big fees and having a strong scouting system to continue the process, they don't try to hold players to the contract length when they have a clear chance to move up the football ladder, it sets a tone that they are not the place to go if you are looking for a steady progression with a reasonable understanding that your are aiming for the top.
If any club decided to cash in for their star player, most times they were worse off than before. Even we shouldn't have sold Ronnie, since his departure we never looked the same in Europe, even the 'fun' has been dragged out by and by. It's not worth it, keep the player at any cost, they calm down and start playing again, sooner rather than later.

There are so many talents out there, the number of clubs in the Premiership is limited, so no problem signing up new gems.

He's done nothing in Madrid for 2 years. Only sealed that move due to a good World Cup. I'd rather we go for someone else for that kind of money. Doubt he'd be a good prem player due to his size too.

We had a real exceptional talent in Ronaldo though, most of the players we are talking about are good players just looking to improve their careers with an upwards move, and most clubs get that and have a strong cycle of ins and outs that keep the club moving along well, like Atletico who have lost 4 top strikers over the last decade and have actually gotten stronger as a team.

That's not true. He had a good 1st season. And since when does size matter? Plenty of players his size and smaller have succeeded in the Prem.

2nd season wasn't as good, but it can be attributed to Zidane changing the formation and there being no place for James in the starting XI.

Would be still wary of signing him though. Rumors of his attitude being iffy worry me.

He's quite well built actually, but would take time to get up to speed with the tempo of the PL.

We're funding their Pogba deal?

So? If we are unable to get Pogba and he wants to go there, we could do a lot worse than James. In fact he's probably one of the most talented players on the market and judging by Perez' comments you get a lot of commercial revenue due to him.

Yes, exactly.

Ironic since we funded their James deal as well.

Couldn't care less to be honest. I just hope, if we sign him, he's actually interested playing for us.

Like? For the record I'd like us to sign James and Mhkitaryan. And he was very good under Ancelotti in a 4-4-2 and in general is versatile. Even last season he wasn't as bad as people say he was.

I'm preparing for the next few years for James Rodriquez to be our new Sneijder. We're going to get linked with him every transfer window.

Speaking of:

Transfer Talk: Everton trigger Sneijder clause as Mokotjo commits to Twente

Reports Wesley Sneijder offered himself to #FCIM , but there are problems

Could be confused with SC Internacional.

Would be weird for him to offer himself to Internacional. I had to think a minute what club FCIM could be and still wasnt sure. Inter would have been more simple, especially because it is correlated with his past.

Pointless discussion anyway

Wierd. They allegedly have the best academy in the country, why would one of their top prospects want to leave?
He scored over 50 goals across the various tournaments for their u16s last season and never even made the bench for the u18s. He's Kevin Campbell's son so probably doesn't need to stay at City and risk his development being held back just because they pay better than other clubs

#mcfc Benja Garre: "I won't let this opportunity with City pass. Every player dreams of it. It's a gift from God."https://twitter.com/Lapelota10ok/status/746072028453666816 …

I'll sound like a ''rag'', but i'd like to have seen him say that with a straight face.

If you look at those comments separately, it doesn't sound as ridiculous.

He won't let this opportunity with a big(ish, I'll give you that) PL club pass. Without thinking about the club in question, every young player probably does dream of a chance to "make it". And being religious, he naturally considers this chance as a gift from god.

50m for James seems a tad overpriced, but i rate him
With Southampton is rumored asking 40m for Mane who despite of being PL proven, is lesser player as well as way inferior as marketing face, 50m seems fair.

If we compare him to the overpriced PL players, yes. Less so compared to the other leagues. But 5-10m here or there dont matter much in the grand scheme of things.

I just dont think we are interested currently. James is an easy target for the media, Real bench + Mendes link + makes sense to sell him and fund another superstar.

Mane would be a very good signing for Liverpool. Should fit in well into Klopp's aggressive system.

I think he's a bit too positionally all over the place to be an effective central midfielder, and lacks a bit of creativity and dribbling ability to be useful outwide. At most I think he's just a decent player with great stamina who now and again manages to pop-up into goalscoring opportunities. Not worth the hassle nor fee of dealing with Arsenal. Plus, the Arsenal fans I know don't think much of him either.
This. Causes more problems than he solves. Doubt it'll happen anyway.

L'Equipe: PSG in advanced talks with AZ for Janssen, and still following Lacazette.

In relation to Rey's post

He is quoting AS which is a Spainish paper but I don't know how reliable they are. Seems that it says we will pay €25mil to Raiola (I don't know what for)

Crazy how things change in a few years right? Wouldn't pay a few million to the agent for hazard and now we are reported to be dropping 25 big ones to Pogba's agent

A few years ago 25 big ones was a transfer record. Atleast for us.

AS report that we have made a €120m euro bid for Pogba and are in negotiations but these are the same guys that thought that we would be getting Bale atleast a thousand times.

EDIT: if only other papers were reporting this cocks would be out
