Summer Transfer Tweets 2016

I'd barely even heard of him until we were first linked a few weeks ago. His stats seem decent (over double figures in league goals for the last three seasons) and he seems like we do not really have a player like him, so could be a useful addition. At 29 though it's hard to get excited about him signing if it's true but I have faith in Guardiola's judgement and hopefully he can be a good signing.

Hope it's wrong but they appear to be credible rumours. I like him a lot, the perfect rotating player to rotate with MSN and precisely why Lucho wanted him so badly. Good for City and especially bad for Barcelona as I think it also serves to increase the tension between coach & board

Glad to hear you speaking so highly of him. I know people always laugh at the 'ITK's on Bluemoon but one of them who is seemingly quite close to Silva (photos, injury updates not in the press, followed by him on Twitter etc) posted yesterday to say he'd heard Nolito was signing, so today's news would seem to corroborate that.

Yeah, you'll like everything about him and soon forget he's 29. I only slightly worry for him about the league, language & Premiership differences in the jump - I'm sure that had to give him some pause but the Spanish lads probably set him at ease.

I wonder about how he'll make use of all that space he'll get because he isn't normally afforded that much in the Primera. Plus, it was with Pep that Nolito eventualy left the club the first time around - less to do with how he was playing but who was ahead of him. Moreover, it was with Lucho that Nolito's career took a step up. I think most people know he craved the return to Camp Nou, this board bites the big one

He said pre-agreement.

Well he certainly wasn't clear. I have never embedded a tweet before :( but the below says he's signed with Manchester United, dated 5th June. He also divulged wages in a later tweet IIRC.

So the tweet on the previous page is just rehashed from the June 5th 'news', is my point.

He clarified in the radio interview that the deal was faxed to Ibra at a Sweden training session on the 5th and he subsequently signed a pre-contract arrangement to join United - one where backing out would result in a significant financial penalty. Thus in his view, its more or less a done deal.

The more I think about the Troy Deeney deal, the more I think Leicester are geniuses. In essentially assigning Deeney this value they get to set the tone and dictate the prices of this transfer market. No matter what deal happens after (if) Deeney goes to Leicester, it will be compared alongside it. Basically - clubs will demand even more for players they're willing, but not looking, to get rid of because - Deeney to Leicester.

Leicester come off best in this because they will make it harder for the clubs around them to sign players, as well as instantly increase the amount they can demand for players potentially wanting to move on from them. They also get Deeney at £12-15m over his actual value, but this will be recuperated easily if they sell any of their big three.

Riiight.....so paying stupidly over the odds for a super average player is genius is it?

And have you completely missed the Vardy release fee? And the rumoured Kante ones? Both 2/3 of the Deeney fee?

Genius.

Football is going to implode, there is no way clubs generally can sustain this sort of outlay regardless of TV money. It will all end in tears!

Troy Deeney. Probably the only way he'd go into history books. The man whose transfer ruined English football

£30m for a mid table, average Premier league target man. Unbelievable scenes. Well played to Watford on that!

Aguero Nolito De Bruyne Silva Gundogan together will be quite a handful when fit.

More importantly what the feck are they doing rejecting that offer?

Cos they'd probably get bum fecked by the team they then approached to replace him. You can imagine a championship side wanting 20m for a bloke thats never done it in the premiership
They can find plenty of options for cheap. 30m can go such a long way for a club like Watford.

What The hell??

One of the biggest stretches I have ever seen.

They are soooo tiny though. I know football in England has moved on and all but it will never be that far on.
It's interesting that Mourinho is targeting physical players while City seemingly are going down the small, technical route.
One manager has English experience while the other doesn't.
Can't wait to see what happens. Roll on the Premiership ffs.

It's quite something, but it's not quite an Andy Carroll. If they can break the Carroll-barrier, I'll be impressed. G'wan Watford.

Even Kenny can't believe the one on the left cost more than the one on the right.

City's best transfer of the summer will be whoever takes on that pile of shit, Jesus Navas.
