Television Succession

I don't think it was a negotiating strategy. He was dead serious about this and Logan knew. Then Logan dies and suddenly all is forgotten and he wants to buy ATN as well. You can't tell me this wasn't for plot purposes. I love the show, but come on - this season feels horribly rushed.

That's how these characters operate. That's how these characters have always operated in this show. The show, and the characters, are extremely consistent in this. Nothing matters. Things are always forgotten by these characters if it's convenient for them. I mean, just look at how the siblings act with each other. They say the most heinous shit to each other, stab each other in the back, are genuinely horrible to each other. Not in just a sibling rivalry type of way, but would genuinely feck each other over if it meant they got the top job. And then after all is said and done, they can get in a car ride with one and other, have a genuine heartfelt conversation, hug it out, and Shiv can confide in them about being pregnant.

There's nothing inconsistent or out of the ordinary here.

Amazing episode.

don’t think Shiv will win, she’s no tactical nous and Menkin still needs ATN to fight his corner until the election is decided. She’s moved too early. If ATN flip on him he’s screwed and that’s what Ken and Roman have left.

Loving this season. I think the one day an episode works perfectly with what they are trying to do with the season and characters. Sometimes one week can have such intense moments, even more than say the 5 previous months, so it's perfectly realistic and

Opening the thread for the first time in 9 weeks. I saved all the episodes to binge this week before the finale

I don’t think I’ve ever been so confident in writers not messing it up ahead of an ending.

Funnily, Pepe Silvia itself became a fan theory, as people theorized that Charlie just misread Pennsylvania. Turns out, nope. It's just a funny name.

That’s something that I think is entirely plausible given their sense of humor.

Don't leave us hanging now...

So excited to see what happens.

I was watching S2 finale the other day. Think the last 10-15 mins of that episode might be one of my favorites. The shot of Ken sitting there listening to music and the soundtrack is beautiful but ominous at the same time, and the smile on Logan's face is the last shot. Brilliant.

Final predictions.

Ken on top.

Roman exposed and more or less finished by Gerri.

Matsson predictably fecks over Shiv. Shiv and Tom's horrible, grim relationship continues for the sake of the child. They both know it won't work but they do it anyway.

Greg to be Matsson's American CEO puppet.

If Matssons deal goes through and he installs Greg as puppet CEO, how is Ken on top?

I'm actually nervous

Watching live this week as I'm working until 9PM tomorrow and absolutely no chance I'm waiting till then!

Not staying up but off tomorrow so getting a big filthy breakfast roll in the morning and then watching the finales of Succession and Barry back to back.

They're just not serious people, and shiv is undoubtedly the worse.
