It's the same bullshit as Rooney with his 'lack of ambition' & 'at odds with direction of club'. Read as ££££.

Why didn't he go to City for £300k then? You made a £21m profit on a 29 year old, hardly bad business. Get over it, man!

From the interview and the way he plays for the team he that plays him it's no wonder that Rodgers wants him to stay and Wenger wants to buy him. If what he says is true then Liverpool are simply breaching his contract. That's the ultimate scumbaggery (is that even a word?).

Suarez is clearly lying about being promised he could leave if they didn't make the Champions League. I know we make fun of them for being delusional, but you'd have to be bordering on mental retardation to promise something like that when they clearly weren't anywhere near as good as Chelsea, Arsenal or Tottenham to even challenge for a Champions League spot. It would be like Spurs telling Bale he could leave if Tottenham failed to win the Premier League. Unless this to was lost in translation and challenege for a Champions League spot, is a matter of fact statement meaning they will be in the Champions League in Uruguyan.

Liverpool could easily be that stupid, A) If Suarez wanted to talk about leaving last summer. Throwing this promise at him keeps him happy for the short term B) They had no intention of keeping the promise if they didnt make the CL

Liverpool didn't have much choice. If they hadn't agreed to what he wanted in the contract then he runs it down to a year and does a cnut-trick like van Persie and leaves for £20M-odd. At least this way they get £40M.

As much of a cnut as Suarez is, he's not done anything wrong here. Loyalty is a lot easier when the club is challenging. He's simply too good of player to battle for 7th place. He belongs in the champions league, albeit most likely suspended.

Is Suarez actually that good though? Perhaps I'm missing something probably due to "dislike" of both Liverpool and Suarez but to me he seems like the sort of player who runs around a lot and has 7592 shots per game, scoring once or twice through sheer law of averages. He's by far and away the main man at Liverpool so he's afforded the right to go on all his ludicrous runs, dives, shooting sprees, buffets etc. but I wonder how good he'd be if he wasn't the focal point and actually had to pass to better players than himself. I suppose he's been good for Uruguay though plus he has scored some good goals but I'm really not seeing all this "demands a huge fee", "deserves to be playing for the top clubs" etc.

Was having this discussion with my scouse mate the other day who seems to think Suarez is a little bit overrated too. We could both be wrong though, of course.

His big failing is that he's not clinical but he scores enough and makes loads of chances for himself and others so it doesn't matter that much.

Not clinical is an understatement but I suppose you're right. I still don't know how good he'd be in a real team of talent though.

Giroud as frontman with Suarez and Walcott either side and Cazorla in behind looks good for goals to me.

Its an interesting one because theres grounds for saying that in a better team with better players, he'll be better. He should get better chances at goal anyway. Maybe if he doesnt have to make so many for himself he can concentrate on his finishing, who knows?

But on the other side of the coin, he got so much of the ball and dribbled almost every time he got it at Liverpool. Sometimes this led to him losing the ball... A lot. Is he going to release it playing in a better team? Or is he going to try to run the ball all the time same as with Liverpool?

His past behaviour and generally twattery wouldn't bother you?

No denying he'd bring something to your team, but it's hard to back someone fully when you know they have a past record like his.

Suppose every team has a major twat, but he's is top twat for me, I wouldn't be impressed if we signed him.

So Suarez takes it to the next level. Which means going to Madrid for 30 million. :( Arsenal and us being played for chumps.

I don't think Madrid really want him. The fact he's changed his tune from wanting to escape England and Madrid being a dream destination to being flattered by the fourth place champion's interest leads me to believe Madrid notified him they'd no interest.

Could be, but what hoarding money club wouldn't take Suarez for £30 mil?

Would you guys really pay Madrid £30 million to take him though? I doubt it and thats the only deal they'd be interested in

I wonder how this fits into the imaginary YEA strategy Arsenal seemed to be following.

this has to be the most bizarre saga we've ever been involved in. I wonder if even Wenger is wondering how it all came to this.

At the end of the day, I think my personal dislike for Suarez is a little more than my admiration for him as a player, and I would be disappointed if he trotted out in an Arsenal jersey next year.

If he starts banging the goals in though, I might :wenger: That's just how football is.

It's a lot of money for a cnut. Wenger's been burned on the big money deals before and this looks like it will probably go the same way unless we sign two more players to make a proper challenge.

Sp*rs without Bale and Poo without Suarez pretty much guarantees CL footy though. Question is can we take it to the next level?

In fairness, scumbaggery aside, Suarez will be very good for Arse. That said, I still think they're too easy to play through to be a title winning team.

Spurs will buy excellent players from Bale money. That Bandini is a very good talent spotter.

Spurs will still be a threat, if Levy doesn't be a cnut and drag the Bale saga on too long hoping for a few more quid. As that strategy has cost them in the past. They replaced Berba and Keane with Fraiser Campbell. Moutiniho deal could have been done if they had more time last year.

So it's pointless him giving AVB lots of cash to spend in two days. As teams will just raise prices knowing Spurs are desparate.

I agree, but this doesn't get away from the fact that our priority absolutely had to be a forward this summer, and this is what we're doing. Very happy if we can pull this off.

Always nice to have a racist man biter on board.

Sometimes you have to put respect above winning. This would be one of those cases.

You honestly think henry would give up 10M just to sell him abroad?! No chance in hell.

I don't get why Liverpool wouldn't snap an arm off for 40m. That is an outrageous price given the cnut-baggage that he carries around.

It would be funny if Real, the club which couldn't accept Mourinho's behavior, would sign Suarez.

I think his behaviour would suit them perfectly. Always thought the club have class, but they way they go about their transfer dealings stink.

Because a) they value him higher than that, he is the clubs best player & on a long term contract and b) selling to a rival they are trying to catch up would put the club even further behind.

Is that not part of the reason why United aren't selling Rooney to Chelsea, he obviously wants to leave.

You don't sell to a rival, if at all possible.

Go read about Manny Ramirez. Henry and company dealt with an idiot player before and got the most out of him.
