Suarez bites | "sorry for falling into him and biting him and that"

Biting someone three times is strange though, not adult behavior..
It's strange and Suarez is a nutcase that needs serious counseling. But I don't think what he has done is worse than an elbow or headbutt. It's like people getting outraged over nudity in tv but fine with violent scenes.

The man needs serious help with his impulses. Hopefully this will be a wake up call.

Seriously? Biting is not worse than an elbow?

If I didn't loathe Chiellini so much I'd be more outraged. Seriously though its fascinating that in the history of the game with perhaps hundreds of thousands of players, I can't seem to recall just one instance where someone bit another player and here we have someone who has done it 3 times? Or maybe he gets more attention because he is an elite player of course.

Defoe did it once but, I can not remember anyone who has done it multiple times.

He's a guy seemingly with some sort of mental issue, surrounded by enablers.

Spot on

I studied behavioural Science and this is a classic case.

A = Antecedent - Something that happens before behaviour. It can set the stage for, and influence whether that behaviour occurs.
B = Behaviour - Is what a person then does or says. To be an actual behaviour it must be measurable and observable.
C = Consequence - Something that occurs during or after a person engages in behaviour.

I'll not give a chapter on the ABCs but you get the point.

Behaviours come after Antecedents but future Behaviours depend on Consequence which in turn are governed by:

Reinforcers

+ Reinforcement = Adding something to the environment which causes behaviour to increase (behaviour continues because they get what they want)
- Reinforcement = removing something from the environment which causes behaviour to increase (we take away the problem for them so they avoid what they don't want to happen)

Both + & - reinforcers increase the behaviour.

Punishers

If behaviour stops it's been subjected to punishment and is now less likely to occur. It's not punishing the individual but but if behaviour stops then a punisher has been recieved.

+ Punisher = Adding something to the environment which causes the behaviour to stop (because they get something they don't want)
- Punisher = Removing something from the environment which causes the behaviour to stop (because they loose something they like)

Both + & - Punishers decrease the behaviour.

Enablers (as I quoted above poster) are a failing mix of the above.

Suarez would be a fantastic case if we were party to what has gone on behind the scenes.

Deliberate elbow can cause serious injury and more damage than a bite

If you pulled out his cock and pissed on Chilleni's leg that would not cause as much damage as an elbow or a two footed tackle. But, I guarantee it would warrant a much longer suspension. Even in a physical sport like Football there needs to be a certain level of decency. Biting an opponent crosses a line.

Hahaha that's the crazy part. Once is "fine" in a sense. Twice is messed up but even then you can maybe excuse it but 3 times? 3 times?!!!! That is insanity. " Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results" lol maybe he believes that if he does it enough times defenders will fear him and he will get more goals.

Fair point but I don't think him biting is that extreme. Defoe wasn't even punished for his biting. We don't give players harsher punishment for their past incidents.

The twat is not worthy of jokes anymore. For me, he crossed the line a long time ago. He should get pure hate from every single one of us.

Kick him out of football, please.

Since the referee "dealt" with the incident the FA was not able to take any action against Defoe.

Better angle

It's mental. Look how completely deliberate and aggressive it is, he's like a shark.

The cheating cnut went down as if he's shot to avoid punishment, playacting his way to glory and all you Liverpool fc morons are discussing if a potential elbow could be as dangerous as a bite? You were the same morons who wanted the book thrown at Rooney for swear words near the camera, swearing never caused any pain to anybody. I hope Columbia twat them, and Suarez gets hit with a lengthy ban. Only internationals will do, I have no interest in what Liverpool do, we'll be fine with a real manager next season. fecktard.

Above anything, this is quite disappointing in light of past incidence. You'd really think he'd have learnt his lesson by now. It really is absolutely inexplicable as to why he needs to have this yearly feck up. Maybe he's just extremely ignorant as to to the implications of his actions. Whatever it is, my patience is wearing quite thin with Suarez as a personality.

Perhaps knowing he'll be aggressively defended by both his club and country whenever he fecks up plays a part? The way both Liverpool & any notable Uruguayan figure came out on the offensive during the Evra scandal was an absolute omnishambles, and the subsequent bizarre persecution complex he believes himself to have leads me to think he's simply a spoiled little child who gets his way and doesn't learn from his actions because he's protected by doting parents who wilfully shut their eyes to his utter twatishness.

Liverpool and Suarez worked on improving their public image after the last biting incident. After a year I thought the coast was clear but out of nowhere the rodent does it again. They deserve each other.

Though not nearly as bad, the feigning of his own faux injury after both this and the Ivanovic incident are equally odious. He's a child. Joey Barton is a bigger man than he. At least he mea culpas.

I haven't read through all of the thread. . But if there are any scousers on here, defending him, they need a serious looking at.

Bloody hell, I thought we were bad. But at least we dont actually defend the indefensible

If the incident is serious enough FA can hand out further punishment. Like Pepe was given 10 match ban after getting a red card. There was no big controversy, most don't even know about the defoe bite.

So do oppos, tbf.

Not many of us spent the best part of a year denying, decrying and abusing the victim in a racial abuse case. Tbf.

I'd like to know how many more of these kind of feck ups are going to happen before at least some Liverpool fans have to finally admit to themselves he obviously did it, and that they acted silly buggers on the wrong side of social justice like a paranoid army of Richard Littlejohns.

What kind of person even contemplates doing that during a football game, let alone one being televised to billions with the eyes of the press, FIFA, your own Mum on you?

Bloke is a complete mentalist.

Many did not know of the Bakkal bite until the Ivanovic bite.

I don't think you realize how much damage an elbow can actually do.

The amount of damage is not the point:

All players do all kinda shit fully knowing camera is on them.

He's a guy seemingly with some sort of mental issue, surrounded by enablers. Liverpool and Uruguay both have the "us against us the world" mentality more than most, so he won't get the help he quite clearly needs. It'll be padded off by those who should guide him as poor Suarez has the media against him again for no reason.

There just has to be something wrong with him. Trains so hard to get back fit then ends his world cup for biting AGAIN. It's toddler stuff.
This is almost exactly what I thought after I saw the incident, his behaviour today was completely irrational and very sad to see. He deserves a length suspension from professional football but if he does have some sort of issue he can't contain I can't help but feel some slight sympathy for him. I don't think he has ever been coached effectively to contain that immense desire he has to win and manage his aggressiveness and he is probably be too old for that too happen now. It may be that playing in such a high-profile league every week, where his club have helped increase his paranoia, and then being the main star for his national team isn't a healthy environment for his mental health.

Shame this is going to dominate the headlines.

The tournament has been fantastic too... doesn't deserve it.

To be fair, we haven't seen this much uproar from the English Media when Andy Carroll did it:

When he did it, and I was watching live, and alone. I said out loud, to myself. He actually did it again.

What a nutjob. I dont think words can describe him. I really dont.

The ref gave a free-kick to Italy for the incident. FIFA have said they will examine the referee's report, before deciding if they need to examine video evidence.
This is going to be brushed under the carpet with a "powerless, as the ref dealt with it" cop-out.

Also the paranoia over the press completely ignores the writers' POTY award. How they could be perceived as having any culpability is laughable.
The reactions of other Uruguayans reflects terribly on that nation. I can't help thinking negatively about their country, and such feelings don't sit well with me.

You've got to wonder what goes through his head to feel the need to bite another player. So much for him being a changed man aye Gerrard and Rodgers

The whole match was a despicable display of cynical cuntery all around. The Uruguayans have always been masters of it. They were kicking the ball away, grappling the Italians, swarming the ref, feigning injury, and all sorts of other nonsense. the Italians have done this a lot in the past so I'm not sad for them but it just pissed me off to see such levels of cuntishness throughout the players and staff on both sides.
