Steven Gerrard

Question: if they were to lose the race now, would that slip be sweeter than Terry's in Moscow in 08?

I mean yes, we were actually involved in the latter - it helped win us the CL - but it was only Chelsea. Agony for Liverpool is so much sweeter... Plus it would be preserving the two-championship gap between our record and theirs.

You find a Liverpool loss sweeter than a United win? Pretty embarrassing don't ya think?

To be honest I didn't give a feck that it happened to Terry, I was just relieved that he missed it more than thinking about how much of a cnut he is. Given the context of this season (we have nothing to play for) and that we are watching Liverpool on their way to their first title in eternities, Gerrard's slip could be sweeter

I regard the Gerrard slip as being exactly the same as the Terry slip. Natural justice.

My (not so) artistic impression of how Stevie Me's evening is going.

i'm a good scouse, i love our kop end

we're a good team, cos we've beat man city

I was so happy after the games today I took the Mrs out to a fancy restaurant to celebrate. She had no idea why I needed to celebrate Gerrard falling on his arse, but she wasn't complaining.

Now just got home to this thread and can't stop

Wonderful stuff! Best week of the season by a million miles.

your boys took one hell of a beating.

Reminded me of another time where a key figure stepped up to be counted, then slipped up.....

Woke up sick and missed the game but this thread made my day! Payback is a right bitch!

Feck me. Laugh so hard on that 'The Trip". That Gerrard's hair.., Pellegrini quote.

Karma. That back pass to Reina, with Drogba lurking, and the surrender to Chelsea, to block our 19th title.
That's what I immediately thought. I told to my friends a couple weeks before the game 'I wonder if he's going to pass the ball to their striker on purpose so he can score the goal like he did in 2010'.

Never did I think that he was though.

I really hate to see something like that happening to such a well loved and respected opponent :lol::lol:

That has probably cost Pompey £1m as well. There is a clause in the contract when Liverpool bought Glen Johnson from Pompey that Pompey get £1m if they win the league and (I think) Johnson has played more than a certain number of games.

Someone should photoshop in Duncan Edwards tripping gerrard, or the busby bees from Moscow!

Welcome to the big time Liverpool - thrash every team you meet for most of the season, then one little slip and it's all gone.

Their fans went there yesterday expecting to see them all but clinch the title, but instead they had to watch them (hopefully) lose it.

A lot of people questioned Gerrard's mentality and professionalism after the team huddle against City and although I'm not bringing that topic into discussion, I did find it shocking how Gerrard's performace completely dovetailed after that slip-up against Liverpool. I understand it would weigh on his mind and he constantly looked to atone for his error, but the drastic dip in performance from the first half to the second, was astonishing in my opinion.

That was one of the most small time and cringe worthy things I have seen from a team that are supposed to be a title contender

At least i wont have to put up with them too much at work today, they will be pretty quiet. Id pretty much resigned myself to thinking that they had won it tbh. Its funny how they have all been going on about how they wont win the league and it doesnt matter as they were only aiming for top 4 anyway, then when they all start believing and turn up expecting to be all but champions it all comes crashing down around them. They could of course still win it though so lets not count our chickens too early.
