This normally gets said in relation to football, not awful pop music, but you two are clearly too young to remember the 80s well. Phil Collins brought untold misery to thousands, and many people have never forgiven him for it.

I don't get why these 2 always get compared.
Giggs has never come out and said anything about what he did. The likes of Giggs, Barton, Suarez, Terry all get slated by the press or fans at any opportunity for stuff they've done and you can arue that it's rightfully so, what they all did was out of order. Gerrard is on caught on camera assaulting someone and yet nothing ever comes of it. He is then paraded round as some sort of angel of football who can do no wrong despite his past and the fact he seemingly "got away" with it.
People say the stuff about diving isn't a valid reason to, it is. He comes out and slates people who dive, saying he'd never do it and it's disgraceful, he'd "have a word with them" like he's some hero that we all need and then he goes and does it himself all the time. People mention Ronaldo and Drogba or the other serial divers but at least they never slag other people off for doing it.
No one really doubt he's a good footballer but he is a bit of a horrible cnut, for some reason it's acceptable for him to be like that though. If anyone dares question the guy it gets a lot of people questioning you for it.
