I hope he doesn't sign a deal, goes to Madrid and sits around on the bench for a year or 18months and we go in for him.

This is turning into a Sterling thread.

Correction: Because it is a Sterling thread!

A Liverpool news reporter was saying last in on Talksport that Sterling is committed to the Dippers.

Ohhhhh boy, in my defence though who could've predicted it? Kind of feel like this now,

LvG, LvG, Sign him up. He is half of Liverpool FC at the moment. Not the finished product yet, but he's worth more than £70k per week.

Or he doesn't sign a deal and sign for us directly.

As much as I'd love that, could you actually see it happening?, Liverpool would never sell and he'd need to be a brave, brave boy to walk to us on a free tansfer.

Join United Raheem and we will make you a star!

We can track him on twitter, and send him poems and songs about our love for him. We can convince him to seat on his contract.

His end product whenever I watch him is really bad, but he's so good with the ball and causes a load of problems.

Wait sterling is a United fan?

That ones new to me. It'd be so funny if he ended up here. OMG rawk would literally explode.

Let's be honest though there's about as much chance of sterling Joining us as there is Valencia actually beating his man and putting in a perfect cross.
Brilliant

Liverpool will have to pay him top dollar, the longer their poor form continues the more he'll consider his options. He wouldn't move here, it wouldn't be worth the death threats... But Chelsea and City, it'd be two birds with one stone for either of them because he's English.

He would be mad not to leave Liverpool now while he can.

Where would he go though?

If it's honestly Real then he'll rot on the bench, he's not now and never will be good enough to start for them. They have better talents already on the bench.

City, Chelsea, United, Arsenal would all take him for sure. If we take United out because of rivality then there are still three possible and better destinations for Sterling than staying in a sinking ship.

If he rejects the new offers then there's only so much Liverpool can do.

Don't think Real are a realistic option - if his form picks up significantly it's a possibility, but right now they probably wouldn't go near him.

However, it wouldn't be the worst thing for him to spend some time on the bench in and out of a team. It would actually be perfect for his development.

At the current rate, Liverpool will destroy him. He's being totally mishandled due to the desperation of their situation.

They don't need a project like that though. They already have Jese who looks like a fantastic prospect.

This is spot on. Fergie managed Ronaldo superbly even though we were struggling at the time, Rodgers is overplaying and harming Sterling's long term development as things currently stand.

I'm not sure I buy this 'he's being overplayed and that's why his form has dipped' thing. Personally, I thought he was somewhat overrated last season, with people not taking account of how easy his job was made by playing next to Suarez, who would draw three or four players every time he got near the ball.

Don't get me wrong, he's a very talented kid. He was poor for England, worse than his actual level - after all, most of the England players were underwhelming. But I think this season's closer to his actual level. He's not been at all bad, although his contributions haven't always been that noticeable because, in a struggling team, they less often lead to goals or chances. Today, for example, he was good. Dangerous, and their best player, but with the flaws in his game (finishing, decision-making) that you'd expect from a youngster. That, I think, is his actual current level.

He certainly isn't showing any actual signs of being tired or burnt-out, so I'm not sure that excuse has much in it.

Agree with this, same category as the Barkley hype. Two players doing well in teams that were playing well and being over-egged because they are technically gifted and English.

Not that thats a slight on either of them, but they've both got a long way to go before they become the players many would have had you believe they were last season.

Exactly. Meanwhile, Oxlade-Chamberlain is that player already (in either youngster's position, really). Irritates me no end to see people putting Sterling in their England line-ups ahead of him.

If this happens, it happens on a free or after a move abroad. Can't see it myself.

He is a great talent. No one knows what he will become. But I can see some big clubs interested in him.
Its seems pretty clear to me that Liverpool will not make the CL in the league(EL is very hard too) and will remain a bigger club but not a top club in the near future.
IF he isnt that invested in the club and SHOULD he become the player some see in him he will go next summer or 2016.

I'd be over the moon if we nabbed him.

Chelsea, United, City and Arsenal should all be very very keen if he's up for grabs.

He's a Londoner so hopefully he angles for a move back (feck off Chelsea, you already have Hazard and Fabregas).

Chamberlain has been excellent for us this season, he's really coming of age. He's been great in the middle and also on the wing.

Ox is just coming through at PL level and is better in an attacking midfield role in a 433. Sterling is ahead of him right now (though his form as been poor this season).

We aren't getting him unless he leaves on a free. Liverpool and Man United don't do business. I'd also fear for Sterling's life if he does push for a move to us. I'd also be surprised if Madrid are actually looking seriously at him considering who they already have playing in his position. The rumours are no doubt his agent's doing.
