Solskjaer target 5 signings; 6 players could leave [BBC, Telegraph, Guardian]

No players leaving means we will have a very large squad. It will be tough for the staff to deal with so many players.

Remember though that although the transfer window closes in the UK on August 8th, it's still open in Italy until the 18th and in Spain, France & Germany until the 31st August.
So it's still possible that out goings will depend on incomings, and the likes of Rojo & Darmian could still be shipped out....

I think our board should try to loan out some of the players. it's an impossible task to manage an efficient training with so many squad players. IT will affect the quality of training.

We are finding it awfully difficult to sign players because of the prices and general lack of willingness to do any deals from other clubs. The way the market is currently, you need to pay huge fees to get anybody in and it seems like we are mostly aiming to sign Premier League footballers which makes it even more difficult because English teams do not really need to sell. They are all loaded in money.

I'm more disappointed with the lack of departures. I thought we were finally going to get rid of some of the deadwood but instead we keep extending their contracts and have kept almost everybody. I'd literally prefer to give time to 19-year olds from our youth teams. I'd rather play Tuanzebe, Garner and Gomes than keep giving time to Jones, Matic and Rojo.

My thought aswell. If we sign Maguire and a CM, without getting rid of more players, we must be close to biggest squad in PL history.
Also adding a couple youngsters, Greenwood, Gomez, Chong, who will probably get some matches this year too.

Soon getting more worried about players not being sold, than bought.

I think we may see a clear out of 3/4 players before the windows shut. I have serious issues with Woodward and Judge but my fingers are crossed that they are just being methodical this time round. Wishful thinking I know but any other summer and Ed would be all over Bale, this time no. Maguire, Bruno and another little surprise in and 3/4 failures out would be acceptable for Ole's 1st proper window.

Bruno Fernandes, Maguire, Wan Bissaka and James would be a very good window.

Adding one more in there - be it Longstaff or Pepe would make it amazing.

Certainly would but unlikely to happen i think.

At this point I'd be happy if we just signed Fernandes. Maguire would be good business but it won't change the way we play that much, maybe Pepe or Fernandes would inject that spark we need.

Well it would help us not be totally dreadful at the back, so it would certainly have an impact.

We have signed 2, linked to many and Ole has already stated the emphasis is on youth.

So far, Tuanzebe and Greenwood have done very well in pre season and Gomes/Chong/Garner have all got minutes.

I'm in favour of using these instead of some of the older/tried players we have.

But that's already integrating 6/7 new faces into a squad, with 2 outgoings in Herrera and Valencia.

Why on earth Young and Jones had new contracts is beyond me, Mata as well to some degree.

For me, its simple.

Young/Jones/Rojo/Lingard/Darmian/Sanchez do not even need to be included in our squad at all for next season

I'd make Smalling available if we sign Maguire and its clear as day Lukaku doesn't feature in Ole's plans.

If we can sign 1 of Fernandes/Longstaff and Maguire that would represent a good window. Talk of Pepe as well.

It would be so refreshing to see some players leave that have been here a while and clearly aren't going to improve. We'd have to take a hit with the fee etc but what Ole needs is the squad he wants.

He can talk the talk in front of the camera, but there is no way he wants to be playing Jones/Sanchez/Darmian - first sniff we should just sell. Time to be ruthless and get rid, its the only way we can rebuild.

Its not a re-build if nobody leaves.

I wouldn't be surprised if Pogba left at the last minute.

We hold the cards.

Pogba will not leave unless we have 2x CMs confirmed and at least 150M.

I think he will go, and for me if he wants to go he can but we wont give in to Real's demands late in the window, not a chance

We having been trying to sell Darmian for ages it seems and he is still around. He will probably be sold after the PL window closes to an Italian club for 8-10m, as well as Bailly for 20m to Spain or Italy. Rojo and Sanchez will remain and milk every penny out of their lucrative contracts. No club can match anywhere close to what they earn with us.

If we can get Maguire and Longstaff that would be quite a successful window even if we overpay at 80m and 45m, respectively, for them. It will not be cheaper next season to buy players.

I haven't not seen enough of Pepe and Fernandes but they are not worth 70m each, not even in this market. I would prefer to play Greenwood instead of buying Pepe but Fernandes at 45-50m might be worth a gamble, but can he cope with the pace and power of the PL?

That will be pretty much big class results vs small class results: the quality of teaching and learning is always better if a class have less students (bare in mind I'm referring to a normal disciplined class, off course).
Same applies to sports: when I was a GK youth futsal coach I was forced to handle 4 Gk's in training during the season (a squad usually have 2). I ended up favoring the kids with better talent in training time and pretty much used the other two to distribute the ball most of the time, or assign them mini-games while I was training the other keepers. Off course I would do the same exercises with them, just less time than I wanted to.
I felt bad for doing that, but I couldn't really deliver a quality training if I distributed the same time to all 4 goalkeepers. I had to pick.

Now if you try to do this to professional footballers, my guess is all hell will break loose.

We're proper fecked if Pogba leaves last minute. I think he stays for one more season and maybe has a hand-shake agreement with the club that says he'd be allowed to leave if an offer > £X comes in. Gives us some time to buy a replacement and also gets us a decent transfer fee.

Assuming no one leaves then we need 4 players. DM, RW, CB, AMC in that order. We might get away with us not signing AMC but we desperately need the other 3. Anyone saying that signing AWB, the runner from the Championship and the the kid from Newcastle reserves represent a good transfer window needs his head tested. We're Manchester United not West Ham.

With no time to replace him? I very much doubt it.

There's no chance Pogba leaves last minute.

I don't know about that. If you believe the press, Pogba has stated that he wants to leave and Zidane wants to sign him. It has all gone quiet for the past couple of weeks but, again, with Raiola calling the shots, it might very well happen.

Nor me. If we get Fernandes and SMS (although unlikely) Pogba will go and for a lot less than £150 mill. £120-130 mill would be my guess.

It would require some nifty footwork to get those players signed up before the window slams shut but not impossible. I just don't trust the club to get anyone in of Pogba's stature if he does go. It'll be Ronaldo all over again.

DeGea

AWB
Maguire
Lindelof
Shaw

Longstaff/Mctominay
Savic
Bruno

Martial
Rashford
Pepe

Not a bad side if it comes to pass & gels as a team

We aren’t letting anyone go last minute without an adequate replacement already lined up. Pogba and Raiola will be fully aware of that.

You need a AMC. It's been proven Fred, Pereira, McTominay are not starting level midfielders. The midfield was a disaster when Herera or Matic was off. You can't let your starting midfielder level without replacing him. We can survive another season without a CB or RW and still make top 4. Not strengthening midfield by bringing a replacement to Herera and a CDM would be a huge mistake.

Targets 5 signings.
....
2 new players, 3 new canteen ladies with recipe of Gordon Ramsay's.

Not very good but decent. We need a holding midfielder and right winger desperately. If we got Sancho & a holding midfielder this summer as well i’d be delighted. Obviously not happening . I reckon we will push for Sancho next summer.

Mctominay is a strong player. A potentially exceptional player this year.

Thats where you're going wrong I reckon.

It's not idle papertalk or clickbait....both have spoken at press conferences and interviews.
Pogba to Real Madrid just feel inevitable to me.

So the way recent rumours are going, I'd say we will get in the following in the next 2 weeks before the window closes:

1. Maguire - just pay the fecking money man
2. Longstaff
3. Pepe

I don't think we will get Bruno because if we really wanted him we would have gotten him by now.

I can see us maybe getting 2 more in, not convinced on Bruno as this deal seems to be taking an absolute age considering no one else is really after him (by the sounds of it anyway).

Maguire and we will end up paying over the odds for Longstaff would be my guess, hopefully I am wrong and we get Bruno as well which would be a great window.

Bigger concern on incomings (as I am quite happy for a few of the kids to be given more of a chance this year) is outgoings, my god our squad is massive, massive few weeks just trying to bin off Rojo, Darmian, Smalling or Jones hopefully, Lukaku and whoever else, need to trim it down!
