I still wonder if the Ramos thing is all a ploy to help keep DDG.
At the end of the day it's up to us whether we sell or let him go next summer, but if we chose the latter it could lead to a breakdown in their relationship. By pissing about pretending to got for Ramos, LVG can turn round to DDG on September 1st and say "Sorry David, we tried to do a deal, but Madrid weren't playing ball". Could even put doubts in his mind about how much they want him at all...

Ramos I'm sure has his own motives - he may well not be averse to a move to United, and it's all good bargaining power for his contract otherwise.

Well of course he's ours for €100m. There are only maybe 3 or 4 players in the world that their clubs might not take €100m for, and none of them are defenders.
I know that's my point, I said they're quoting ridiculous figures. It's obvious something's happening, you don't get players asking for specific clubs. Not saying it'll happen because even £40m is way too much, but there's probably talks going on.

I think we have enough 'physical' strikers and we should only consider experienced players with regards to getting another.
