So...what could Van Troll's Surprise be!? | LVG: "not a striker - it's something else"

What about Mario Götze? He has pace, is young and might actually be available since he is not getting any games at Bayern ..... Don't know, if he is at the level of Hazard or Aguero but then again, not many are available in the market right now.
I mean Ronaldo would be a dream, but that isn't happening. Bale would be wonderful but Perez won't let him go. Others are pretty much unattainable

What a fecking myth.

Nah. We rarely ever brief about transfer targets of late. Don't think we're targeting Mané and its being used to keep the media busy/deflect from the Pedro stuff maybe

Yes, the media are really deflected by this. We are being ridiculed right now

Does anyone think our targets are waiting to see if we make it into the CL tomorrow night before finalising?

One of the things I don't understand is why we haven't taken a punt on any young talented striker, I mean yeah no top striker is available this summer but I don't see a lot changing next summer either and we will have an even more finished Rooney with us. Why wait for the younger players to have another great season in ligue 1 or Serie A after which they would have dozens of clubs lining up for them. I would have thrown the money at Lacezzette, yes it could have been a complete bust but in the current market with no strikers you just have to take that risk.

If he thinks we can get by this season (which could be 60+ games) with Rooney (woefully off form and fitness) and a couple of backup strikers who will never get any game time then he's more mental than me

Can't decide if not addressing a major problem like that is arrogance or negligence

The best thing that can happen for the club is for Rooney to get a major injury tomorrow before the window closes

Are you serious.... Having to go before I start abusing you! I'm mean really are you serious?

There were some out there for the taking this summer, but they've all been snapped up besides Lacazette.

We will probably end up paying thrice the price for one of them in a couple years, unless we manage to prise Kane away.

I don't want to see ANY United player injured (even the fat boy) but if that's what it takes to sort out the striker problem before the window closes then maybe it's for the best for the club

Wouldn't get your hopes up, I was just trying to make myself feel better

Too late ! Signings just around the corner lads, that's why we only took 18 players, we needed space on the plane for the newcomers :D

Well since you called him a fat boy it's obvious you don't like him but wishing him a major injury is just. Shocking.
Get a grip.

Maybe we got rid of him for good, let's say he gets a injury which will keep him out until the end of the season. That would be nice, don't you think?

If you are happy with him starting every game that's your prerogative :)

We need an alternative it's very obvious

Well, if that tweet about the youngsters the could get more playing time depending on the transfer window is true, then we are still aiming to complete transfers.

He'll become our record goal scorer and you are acting like a 10 year old. Get a grip of yourself, if we are lucky enough to get a better centre forward then Rooney will play behind him as he's better than Mata Depay Adnan Young etc! So give it a rest with that injury (fat boy) stuff for feck sake he's a United player.

I'm not happy with it nor his form. But to wish for his injury is just too much.

What happens if he does get an injury AFTER the window closes - we are fecked for the season -- no other club in the Premier or in the CL will make do with 3 strikers for a whole season

That is my point - I'd rather he got an injury before the window closes and not after and he WILL get an injury at some point

Seems pretty clear that LVG has given Woody his preferred targets - probably Bale, Neymar and Muller - up to Woody now.

Well when you play with one striker system 3 strikers is enough.
How many strikers does Chelsea have for instance?
