Very frustrating player.
Lets not beat about the bush here, he was fecking shit, worst player on the pitch by far.

Not a fan of Young, find him to be too predictable and average, however you can't judge him on today's performance especially with him coming back after an injury.
Anyhow, was surprised SAF picked him today, thought he would start from the bench...
Our wing-game hasn't really worked today..........i really thought Valencia and Young can do more againt Chelsea's full-backs.
A good point I've seen made is the lack of tracking back that Young does. Evra was poor, but it didn't help him at all that Young wasn't coming back at all.
It's usually a real feature of his game. Shows his lack of match-fitness.
That set of skills will prove to be important to us even if he's never exactly fist name on the teamsheet.
Young will win people round (in fact, he already did, at the start of the season... they just seem to have forgotten).
If you're looking for him to be absolutely brilliant at taking on his man or splitting defences, you'll be disappointed. What he brings tot he party is general intelligence, and being good at pretty much everything. He's quick, hard to dispossess, can cross, is quite creative in the pass, resembles Marlo, scores goals, works hard off the ball.

I knew he'd get stick for his performance. He was poor but it's his first game in how many months? Seriously some of you lot need to give your heads a shake.
I'm not sure I'll take his max level before either Nani nor Valencia, and I don't think he's any more consistant than those two. He's had a bit of a stop-start season so far though.
I would still say he is perfect back-up for Nani and Valencia.
Zonal Marking said:In the first half United had a couple of penalty shouts. They both came from interesting tactical features – Ashley Young went down after good movement from left to right, and Branislav Ivanovic had difficulty with his positioning and runs. Young takes up a variety of positions – sometimes coming inside, sometimes going short, sometimes hugging the touchline. It makes him very difficult to play against, and he had a couple of decent moments when he got the ball.
Young and Valencia (who was very quiet on the right wing despite the pre-match concern in Chelsea’s left-back zone) could have done with better service from the centre, which may have been as a result of United being outnumbered in the middle. Ryan Giggs’ distribution in the first half was poor.
It's gone from "very average player" to "sorry, Ashley, we were wrong, you're amazing", to "actually, we were right, you're shit" on here in 5 months. First appearance after hefty lay-off. Remember Valencia's form until November? He was getting the same shite. We've seen glimpses of what he can do at his best. Give him a chance.
It probably didn't. I've nothing against signing Young, but we did overpay, I mean he had a year on his contract and wasn't essential to the side. He's a good option to have in the team though.

I think some of you expected too much from him against Chelsea.
He was still a better option after the injury than Park, we needed to attack from the start, we had a huge chance to get three points from Stamford Bridge, we didn't need Park or only Rooney up front, we went there with 4-4-2 with two wingers and two strikers. He didn't have a bad game, he was average comparing to others, but he wasn't worse than I expected.
And I really don't understand why marjen didn't moan that Young hadn't had a good game since the Arsenal-game just after he got injured. He didn't play a game in two months, came back at Chelsea and got an average perfromance. Did it really change your opinion on his season so far, or what?!
