Watched the Ire/Sco game on Be in Sports last night. My cable company, Cox, added it to their lineup recently so I get the rugby free. Check it out.
Not sure yet if they're showing them live but will look into it more.

I have BEIN. Pretty sure no live games but I'll check it out. Thanks!

Just looked at their schedule and they're not showing Ire/Wales until 7pm PST tomorrow.

You guys expats in the US or American? Just curious as I wouldn't have thought there'd be much interest in the 6 Nations over there?

Can't wait for this game today. Weather doesn't seem too bad in Dublin, hopefully it doesn't get any worse.

That ball was never already in touch then the welsh player touched it.

Fantastic result, not the prettiest game but Schmidt's tactics completely undermined Wales' game. Lovely to see a cnut like Phillips lose like that.

Very controlled performance. Wales were very one dimensional though. A quick triple crown up for grabs...

Lovely game today. Controlled, clinical and disciplined by Ireland. Lovely to see us win and keep Wales at bay. Seeing Phillips controlled, irritated and sin binned like that is the cherry on top.
:)

Just watched it. Brilliant performance by the Irish. Who knew the Welsh would be so crap at the basics. They had no ideas and every time they got into the Irish 22 they found a way to screw it up. #6 and Best, amongst others, for Ireland had a great game for the boys in green.

There's little interest outside the expat community. I'm Irish myself.

Paul O'Connell was asked in an interview the other day who is current sporting hero is and he said - "I like (David) Moyes and would love if he was successful now, because I'm an Everton fan and he's probably the one I'm plugging for at the moment."

Good man Paulie. Although, he would probably do a better job himself currently :(

They should get him in for motivational speaking. If I was doing a half arsed job and he came in and asked for 200% more I'd give it.....or he'd eat me

Wonder how the dressing room would respond to something like this

Insant red card for Rafael you'd imagine.

Was that the game at Croker where we won and Heaslip scored a try in the first half? I was at that one if it was. I was on the Hill beside a group of French lads and after the game they cried and were hugging us and that. We asked them what they were upset about and they said they had never been to a game where all the anthems played were sung by everyone. We were a bit confused because we sang the Irish ones but we didn't sing the French one but it turned out they had a video of us bobbing up and down and humming to the French one. I didn't have the heart to tell them it was bloody freezing and we were trying to keep warm and their anthem is fecking catchy!

I actually can't remember who scored in that game but you could well be right. Your story reminds me of this

That's basically it. Bloody catchy tune! Was that the away leg of the play off for the World Cup?

I'm pretty sure Ireland lost that game (the fear of god one).

Know it's not really 6N news but interesting England news on Sam Burgess switching codes. For someone who is 18+ stone he is very is quick and athletic. Anyone who has watch him is league knows his class, I personally think he has what it takes for the Union game. A number of people bringing Andy Farrell and Henry Paul . With those situations both players were at the end of there league careers and different type of skill set. Burgess is in Sonny Bill's class in league in my opinion but the big question will 2015 world cup be too soon? I think Burgess not only has the size, age (25), intelligence to get the rules and offloading skills to be a top 12 in Union. If he does work out at 12 with Man Utd at 13 would be pretty heavy.

That's class. Shur aren't we great?

I was in Lisbon when we drew with Portugal (Holland scored) and the Irish section were chanting Figo's name (for a laugh). Twas a great night.

Met Johnny Lyons of 98fm 'fame' that night. He introduced himself as Johnny - as in rubber johnny - Lyons. It went downhill from there.

Farrell actually did very well given the circumstances he was in (got injured straight after converting and was played ad fly-half/IC with very little experience).

Am I correct in saying that he's just played a RL world cup, will be now starting a RL season to take him to October, and then be heading straight into a RU season, where he will probably be given as much game time as possible, including 6N, and summer tours, by which point the WC build up will soon be starting? It feels like a lot of rugby to fit in.

That said, inside-centre is probably England's weakest spot, and if he can adapt as well as SBW, then Burgess/Tuilagi could be the best centre pairing in the world.

Burgess is a monster.

If the plan is to convert him into a 12, can you imagine a Tuilagi/Burgess partnership in the middle? It would be immense.

I still think he's more suited to the no.8 or flanker positions, although that might be too much of an ask if he wants to make the World Cup next year.

Any videos of him? The change of code doesnt always work well. Jonathan Davies was decent but he went union to league. I didnt think Paul and Farrell ever had the impact some thought they would. I would say Martin Ofiah would have been a fantastic player in both League and Union. Robinson is probably the best success story winning a world cup in union and super leagues and challenge cups with Wigan.

He's a beast. Hard to get used to seeing those shoulder barges when you never watch rugby league! They've since been banned though haven't they? Will be very interesting to see how he does in Union.

On to the game, tough one to call. England playing well, especially the forwards. But Dan Cole getting injured it's a huge loss and with no Corbisiero at loose-head will give Ireland the edge at the scrum I feel. David Wilson of Bath come's in at 3, who has just come back from injury and look pretty bad for Bath last week. Even with England at Twickenham, playing pretty well I just think Ireland are playing just a bit better. Tough as it is to say as a Englishman I say Ireland by 3 points. Can't believe it will be BOD last game at Twickenham, think the crowd will give him a great send off.

Ireland will win the championship. Hate to have that losers attitude but England will do very well the finish 2nd, which they will for me. England starting to play some good rugby. This with such a young squad and so many injures right now to top players Crobs, Croft, Parling, Cole, Man Utd, Foden, Wade, Yarde and more. But as I said Ireland for the 6N sending BOD out with a bang.

Yeah I think the rule is now that you have to make an effort to tackle by wrapping your arms around the opponent. You can't bardge any longer and that seems fair enough. He looks big and strong in the Jamie Roberts style of centre if that is where he will play and he has an eye for a break and puts in big hits but I'm not sure if he'll stand apart in Union. Sonny Bill is an unusual player in that he doesnt overly rely on his physicality. He undoubtedly has it but he has amazing feet and his running lines are so clever. While Burgess showed a lot of ability in those league clips at 25 he has to try and establish himself at club level in a relatively new game. Also his opposite numbers are going to be gunning for him if they feel threatened and the sheer physical strain of the timetable you mention will really tell on him. Mind you he's only 25 and looks a prospect.

I cant wait for this one. I think we've had a few battles recently and your forwards are excellent. Couple with that the fact that they are all young and huge and we really have a fight on our hands. Our lads are quite an old team in many respects With O'Driscoll and O'Connell along with D'arcy all the wrong side of 30 but they have the smarts and the physical strength for one big push. I think we'll be hearing the Irish chant of one more year for BOD. He is an enigma. He is such a smart player and while he's lost a bit in the legs he can still spot space and commit two or three tacklers making room for others to exploit. He will be a massive loss for us. Couple that with the partnership with D'Arcy who himself is outstanding and you see the job facing Schmidt next year as he built a lot of his club success on those two players.

Cole is a big loss for England but the depth of your squad will cope. We have some very promising young lads on our bench especially the front rowers who can carry ball and really make a difference in the last 20 or so minutes of a game but I think England's team is young enough to cope with this. Our backs while looking very good defensively haven't really fired going forward so I hope this will be the day. It's really going to come down to the little things. I think your pack may have the edge initially in the scrum but we can change that when the bench empties. Hard to know with the lineout. Toner has really come on leaps and bounds but Laws looks class this year and O'Connell is really inspirational for us. I would say we have the better back row forwards but it's very marginal and in sexton and Murray we seem to have a great pair but Care and Farrell are just as capable. Apologies for the rant but I think it comes down to like you said the kick of a ball but like your french game I can't tell for whom. Will be a great contest though and I hope it will be in favour of Ireland and BOD.

Teams - England: Mike Brown, Jack Nowell, Luther Burrell, Billy Twelvetrees, Jonny May, Owen Farrell, Danny Care, Joe Marler, Dylan Hartley, David Wilson, Joe Launchbury, Courtney Lawes, Tom Wood , Chris Robshaw, Billy Vunipola. Replacements: Tom Youngs, Mako Vunipola, Henry Thomas, Dave Attwood, Ben Morgan, Lee Dickson, George Ford, Alex Goode.

Ireland: Rob Kearney; Andrew Trimble, Brian O'Driscoll, Gordon D'Arcy, Dave Kearney; Jonathan Sexton, Conor Murray; Cian Healy, Rory Best, Mike Ross, Devin Toner, Paul O'Connell, Peter O'Mahony, Chris Henry, Jamie Heaslip Replacements: Sean Cronin, Jack McGrath, Martin Moore, Iain Henderson, Jordi Murphy, Isaac Boss, Paddy Jackson, Fergus McFadden.

No real surprises to the starting line ups. Though from a England perspective great to George Ford over Barritt on the bench. Top young talent.

Too close to call... but I'm not feeling that confident. Think Ireland have form and a full team while we have a shitload of injuries and have been a bit patchy.

How Alex Goode ever gets near an England shirt, I'll never know.

Not sure a team without players like Ferris, O'Brien and Bowe can be considered the full team but we're in a much better position than last year. The selection of Goode is even more strange given Ford is on the bench, I know Goode has played a lot for England at full back but there are other English backs who would surely make more of an impact off the bench. It really is such a difficult one to judge, part of me leans towards England because of home advantage but I am confident (or maybe hoping) that Sexton and Murray can give us an advantage in the kicking game.

If we kick the ball to either England or Frances backs then we're in trouble IMO

The Mike Brown-Rob Kearney battle for the aerial ball will be a key one, as there's been a lot of up and unders
Brown has been excellent under the high-ball since he came in, hopefully this continues
