Brian O' Driscoll: by far the most popular public figure in Ireland and rightly so. That was emotional.

having a beer to calm the nerves.

BOD given Motm? Come off it.

Where was Mike Ross until age 26? He could well be Ireland's most important player right now.

At Harlequins and not being mentioned because at that time we only really looked for Irish based players and the good thing is we have Moore to replace him, back then Buckley was being talked as Hayes replacement :wenger:.

Ah here now....

I have no idea about rugby but I watched some of it and it looks like BOD is a proper legend in Ireland. Emotional scenes and well deserved. Is he like the Ryan Giggs of Ireland without the sister in law shagging?

Proper buzzing! Ireland and Munster never win trophies the easy way. It's not good for the heart, but feck it. It's so much sweeter.

Aye. Except, no offense to Giggs, but O'Driscoll genuinely is in the top 5 players to have ever played the game. (in my opinion)

My heart during that match was in a mess. I was sitting in a corner in Oil Can Harrys with the missus, and she was genuinely worried with how I was acting. She's never seen me watch games like that..

That sort of a finish is not good for the heart or in my case the voice, but what a way to send BOD out and we will have to try and top it next year with O'Connell's final farewell.

Great stuff by Ireland. They had the French on the ropes and left them back into it but held them off in the end.
A first for me today too, watching the game in Spanish:)
Great send off for BOD.

In terms of playing quality he'd probably be the equivalent of someone like Di Stefano. He means a lot to Irish people because he's one of the few public figures in Ireland that are genuinely univerally liked and respected.

You should watch BOD's send off againt Italy on YouTube if you want to see the Irish nation collectively swoon.

Top 5 Centres, yes.

Incredible match, it was a pleasure to be there. It wasn't the best performance we've put in during the Championship, nerves were to be expected, but we played some great stuff at times and fought ferociously in other parts against a much improved French side. What a way for BOD's Ireland career to end, a truly great player and man with a 2nd championship that he and the rest of the team fully deserve. Fair play to England for making it tense yesterday afternoon and for the way they played throughout the tournament, I fear they're building a serious strong side for the World Cup next year.

It must be unusual for a team to win the triple crown and yet lose the championship to a team they beat. Anyway, congratulations to Ireland.

The league table doesn't lie. Well done Ireland, they played brilliantly throughout and deserve the title.
