Serie A 90's draft

One thing that jumps straight at you looking at the roster is that it would be interesting to run this pre-Bosman with only three foreigners on the pitch.

Would have to be an 8 manager draft, so not popular, but that certainly would bring home the challenge it was.

Very excited to pair up Careca with Baggio. Worked superb with Maradona and Zola at club level in Serie and will work wonders with the 90s genius.

Does he have 40 games in the 90s Serie A?

He just had one season in Sampdoria and didn't return to Inter until Dec.1999.
 
Nah he played 20 games in 1999-2000 so it counts I guess. Adding to the 32 games for sampdoria
 
It’s the season isn’t? The rules say he needs to play during 90-91 and 99-00. Even though the games were in 2000 it’s technically counted?

Huh. That's not logical for a 90s Serie A draft.

But the fun part is Seedorf will be a great test case on how subjectively to rate 32 games in 94/95 and ~20 games in 2000 for a 1990s Serie A peak though! :lol:

Had the choice to pick him myself with my last double pick but chose to ignore him. Wouldn't get into a final's team IMO based on the theme, but for a round 5-7 pick where pool is getting thin, don't see anything wrong with it.

I watched a few of his games today and decided to give it a go. Will always going to be a discussion point, which is why Edgar decided not to pick him.
 
This really should have been clarified further in the OP.

Seedorf took his tally to 40 games in the year 2000; which isn’t the 90s.

I can't possibly rate the Inter one as I don't have my memories filed by seasons, but I'd go with his young days at Sampdoria. It's a good Seedorf, just the 90s one and not the Milan one (regal).

I certainly had him listed but not prioritised.

Football seasons overlap over 2 years, it's more practical doing it this way rather than calender year. Secondly someone like Seedorf shouldn't be rated as his peak in this draft, but this sort of discussion is for the match thread.

I'll probably go with that one — there's enough sources saying that he has been great for them (and, well, he did earn himself a transfer to Real Madrid of all places!). That Sampdoria was a great team as well.

Hopefully I'll find some full games though.

A really underrated player. I did a little research and write up about him on other draft. His role was so important for that Sampdoria team as the "destroyer/box to box" while being good with the ball also.

yeah, im a big fan of his and was pushing mjj we go with him as he is the perfect fit for Veron and Del Piero. Just shame there isnt much footage of him, i was planning to do few match compilations for him in previous drafts but he has a such average look that i spent more time wondering is that him then actually watching the game so in the end i dropped that idea.
