Serie A 2024/25

Fonseca is a good manager, but not suited for top clubs where you need to be at the top of your leadership skills to deal with primadonas. He's good for those teams who want to reach top 6.

Conceição is much more suited and has the right personality for italian football.
The job he did at Porto with such an average squad is actually impressive.
Of course it also helps that Conceição was a top player in his prime, which helps in getting respect from current top players.

He is a fierce character, he wont take sh*t from anybody and becomes very salty when his teams loses.

One of the few managers that still plays a 4-4-2 if not mistaken? Seems like a good character and fit for Milan. I only say backwards because under Pioli milan won the league two years ago. Any team with Hernandez and Leao in Serie A should be competing. Saying that Pioli did make some strange signings last few seasons

Pioli did nothing of the sort. Managers aren't really involved in transfer processes at Milan

Does he not get final approval? I know Maldini did some good work as sporting director role. i wasn’t saying as fact. I personally would of kept Pioli , was just a bit surprised they signed Loftus Cheek, Okafor , Morata etc. Felt there was better options

Does he not get final approval?
No. Why would he? What would he know of these players, he's not a scout. If Maldini told him "this guy is a DM with X skillset", that was probably the sum total of Pioli's knowledge about the player in question

442ish. At Porto while he had Taremi, he used him as a deep lying forward.
He actually makes good use of players who are very athletic. He made Marega look like a proper player.
But be prepared: press conferences and post-match interviews are going to be very intense at times.

Watch him dancing with a cigar and the supercup the other night

He's got the advantage of already knowing italian football, and he reminds us of the good old days too, so we're all collectively invested in his success

Also, how dare you take The Lord's name in vain

Atalanta's title charge is slightly faltering. Juventus are still unbeaten but have drawn 13 games!

I think their title charge is over. Inter have a better and deeper squad. Napoli have the winning nous of Conte.

I don’t see Atalanta beating Inter in the reverse fixture 6 pointer to make up the ground.

Juventus are still unbeaten but have drawn 13 games!

I really hope they pull off a Perugia 78/79 season where they go undefeated but not win the league.

Inter are still favourites to win the Scudetto.

But with fewer games to contend with, Conte's Napoli could sneak it if they're still within striking distance April time..

They dropped points tonight though. They'll still win it I reckon. Depends on how far they go in the UCL perhaps

I’m giving the slight edge to Inter for the Scudetto but if they have a favorable draw in UCL, I think Napoli could pip them as Inzaghi may rotate in the league and possibly drop points.

Motta is clearly lacking a few years experience to manage a top club and yet he is a lucky chap, win it vs AC half an hour from now and his rookie season could start rolling a bit better than the current stuttering & missed opportunities.

Give him a ponytail, convert him to buddhism, change his name to Roberto

Lookman is Baggio now

Anguissa 2 assists. Clearly the best CM on the pitch in Atalanta Vs. Napoli, McTominay also took his goal well. Been dissappointed with Ederson. When he's not busting a gut to get into the box and try to score a goal he looks quite average. He's been holding position more today and yeah, average.

I want Lookman at Man Utd for that Left 10 role... His touches are effortless.

Lukaku winning a key game against a direct title rival in 2025

Conte truly is to Serie A what Real Madrid is to the CL

Huge win. Napoli have a tough run up now though. Juventus next week followed by Roma. Will be an interesting title race. Still believe Inter will win by 5 points in the end

Juve still on for an invincible season while being 13 points off the pace and probably 5th after tomorrow.

Thanks to a USELESS coach and national federation he may not make the 2026 WC

Absolutely ridiculous how the Nigerian FA has mismanaged our 2026 WCQ chances, especially seeing as our group is not the strongest.

Motta and Juve are doing their best Perugia 78/79 impression...we will be there for it.

It's tough tough tough.

In the next 40 days we'll play 4 to 6 games more than Napoli, and we're struggling with fitness and rotations.

A Conte team playing only for the league is a hard beast to tame.

I was pulling for Atalanta to win the league for the sake of my county man Lookman but I don’t think Gasperini has the nous to win the league.

Wheels starting to fall off a bit at fiorentina.

If Juve get UCL over them they should be very disappointed.

Loss at home to Udinese, loss away to bottom Monza and now this draw at home to Torino who were down to 10 men for over an hour (after leading the game mind you).

They should be 5-6 pts higher in the table and definitely above the Old Lady.

Inter needed to make a statement and win and they did, Lautaro is recovering form these last three games, seems like good timing given they need to step up as a team.

The kid Esposito BTW it's doing quite fine taking in account he palys for Empoli

McTominay won a penalty for Napoli and Lukaku scores for the eventual winner. Another comeback against a big side, which attests to their fight, so the league Napoli’s to lose at this point.

Perugia’s record lives on.

Massive win for Napoli. Their next three games will be crucial in their charge.

Away at Roma, home to Udinese and then away at Lazio.

I think they can beat Roma and Udinese but Lazio will be tricky, that’s been their bogey team of late.

Lazio has already beaten Napoli at the Maradona in the league and dumped them in the Coppa Italia. Napoli haven’t won in their last five meetings against Lazio (1D,4L).

Nice goal by Nico Paz BTW, hope he keeps on this form (Como still looses the match).
