Serie A 2024/25

Huge for Napoli. They'll lose to Lazio of course in a couple weeks but this is a big statement

Parma up at Milan thanks to some crap Theo defending and a decent strike from Cancellieri. Not their season.

Edit: Suzuki needlessly giving away a penalty gives Milan their first shot on goal to make it 1-1.

Suzuki is extremely error prone.
He seems to be highly rated, or at least was always linked to some big clubs (us being one). Shit the two times I've seen him and it's all horror stories when people tell you how he's doing. He'll probably turn into Neuer out of nowhere in about a decade.

I personally think that Serie A is currnetly the most 'fun' out of the major European leagues.

They seem to be intriguing match-ups in it galore.

It's just a shame about the poor regulation and financial governance, but in many ways the fact that the top clubs in it aren't awash with money just makes it more enjoyable.

I am a fanboy of Atalanta and Gasperini.

Brilliant ending. Dramatic! Thought it wasn't going to happen with that VAR disallowed goal, but it did. Crazy.

Loads of variety compared to other leagues too.

In principle I agree and it surely is fun due to quite even level of teams, variety of tactics and many different teams winning the trophies and scudettos lately. But as I started watching a bit more of Serie A this season for Fantacalcio purposes, some matches (especially if they don't include Atalanta and Napoli) can be so fecking boring and slow it's really a big shock coming from following Premier League. I love the league and it's fun, but it can oftentimes serve the most dull shit you can imagine

Agreed. This is the best league to watch for me. I get the whole slow aspect but sometimes I prefer it

Eh, the slow thing really depends. I mean, it is definitely slower on average than the PL or La Liga, but there's usually a couple games every week played at 1000 mph. It's just a matter of finding the right ones

Big matches are more likely to be dull affairs though, unless Atalanta is involved

There would be entire centuries of pacey golden generations winning anything if England fans at some point do not get that frantic ain't the same as harder, better but just different. Also it's not true that EPL is more physical in terms of roughness, yet indeed it tends to be play at a higher pace in terms of decision making that not few times isn't precisly the best decision, yet of course this requires adaptation.

In the history of the game some League had always prevailed in terms of finances, in terms of attraction to the best players, but there is no time where a well conducted team that plays like that cannot win and be great against another one from a more powerful League in that period.
Football it's football everywhere, there is too much silly pride on every period of the game from fans in relation to their leagues that goes way over the top of reality.

Nice plays in both ruled out goals for Inter, they have to seal this match

What a goal from Lautaro, he has woke in his scoring lately with a couple of golazos

Marco Thuram BTW has been great lately, given his age, he finally has become more mature and for instance more focus in playing than seeking a foul. Great assist today

I really rate him too. A bit late bloomer but last few years he’s been among the best in the world

This last season he has mature even more, it was really annoying how the quality and power was there, yet he had a tendency for the silly stuff: being too sellfish, going to much for a foul or doing sthg extra when the play demanded sthg simplier. These last two seaons he has grown a lot

PD: While I'm saying this he just let Taremi shoot the penalty, another sign of his growth as a player.

He came to Inter on a free transfer didnt he? People mentioned him on this forum as a good sub if i remember correctly. Seems like he would be starter here now

He would be a starter even when he was less mature too. He is an all aorund great forward and nowadays maybe hitting his prime.
I really like his change of attitude in some very important details.

PD: in EPL Cody from Pool also has mature a lot, he has become quite a menace

BTW it was Lautaro's 200 goal in his carreer, what a why to celebrated and with his "weak" foot
