Serie A 2024/25

Roma losing at home to Empoli. De Rossi will be in for a tough season.

Napoli looked very good against Bologna and didn't crumble in defence like last season when put under pressure.

Must be one of the youngest teams Juve have ever put out in their history for a competitive game?

2-0 up going into half time v Verona so pretty good start from Motta so far.

Only the 2nd time I have seen him play, but Juve’s Samuel Mbangula looks like a great old fashioned left winger.

Pretty impressed by Juventus, very solid buys and I have, regrettably for me, a lot of trust in Motta being a real top-level coach in the makings.

Milan, very nonplussed instead. So-so market, Fonseca is competent but prolly not a good fit for the environment - environment that really still suffers the absence of a Maldini by the way.

Napoli I'm curious, they're definitely not the best team but De Laurentis more or less gave Conte what he requested, we'll see if he still have the touch.

Same for Atalanta.

Roma, solid but I don't see them improving much.

Lazio are off the radar.

Fiorentina, good market but the coach is a question mark, dunno if he will be good enough.

Bologna, with Italiano no chance in hell they repeat last season.

Inter, we still have a margin, in a hi-quality well-oiled first eleven and a handful of good subs, but...
... we had just a handful of things to fix to be sure to improve or at least maintain level, and we did half of them.

We got a decent back-up keeper because Sommer is old, k.
We got Zielinski and Taremi for free which are perfect for rotations, k.
We got a youngster from Argentina for backup LCB, k.

But we didn't do nothing on the right flank which is meh (Dumfries, Darmian; and Buchanan out for months)
We still have Arnautovic and Correa hanging around.
We didn't bring in a CB for the middle of the defence - fifty games with Acerbi, 36yo, and De Vrij, 33, is scary.

If we are good re. fitness and injuries, touching wood, we are still favourites but is gonna be tight, with Juve especially.

Great post.
And great performance against Atalanta. I love watching Inter play

Extremely dominant from Inter.

Quite a few new signings for Atalanta so understable they have looked a bit off at the start of the season, but the defending at times tonight was just awful.

Thanks man! =)

Yeah when we mean it we're such a riot ^^
I follow Inter since forty years, we've got way better teams of yore, but I remember none playing this good this consistently.

tried watching Lazio vs Milan. h o l y shit

felt like a different sport compared to afternoon EPL games. everyone basically stopped running after about 25 minutes.

if I didn't know the names of the clubs, you could easily fool me into thinking I'm watching Bari - Catania.

It's not been great on quality. I've got no idea why Hernandez and Leao are on the bench either, but with how crap Lazio have been I doubt they'll be coming on to improve things anytime soon.

Not so bad to finish the day's football with an easy chilled-out Serie A game though. Bit like a cigarette after a shag.

Milan aren't fun to watch in fairness.

It's 40 degrees in Italy. The reality is no football should be played in August in Italy

The end of the Napoli game was crazy. How did Parma not score right at the death in the 15th minute of injury time

Roma quite solid, played some good football too but have no creativity whatsoever.

Looked pretty comfortable holding Juve to a 0-0

Christ I wouldn't be able to stand up. And I've lived in Italy before, so I feel extra stupid now. Cheers giornio.

Great first half between Fiorentina and Atalanta. (De Gea still utterly useless off his line.)

Lukaku looks Sunday league when you look at him far away in that Napoli kit. A geeza who's going dan the pub after match.

He’s somehow got even bigger. First touch remains the same. Shit

Good assist to be fair

He's got huge shoulders and he's hunched which always makes him look thicker than he actually is. Good assist though.
