Sergio Reguilon | Man Utd Loan with January break clause

Mason Mount has a better chance of starting at left back then Fernandez, even whilst injured.

Going from Spurs to Atletico to United while being too shit to get a game for any of them along the way would be some Choupo-Moting level failing upwards, fair play.

Just 3 year late to this deal, much better considering we were 5-6 years late on other deals.

Depressing signing. Simple as that.

Why its a 4th choice LB cover for 4 months loan, you lot need to calm down.

Chelsea wanted a high loan fee for Cucurella, now cup tied and won't let us send him back in Jan.

I'm pretty sure he was great for Spurs in their first season. Then mourinho came in and he was completely out of favour.

Everyone in here absolutely destroying him needs to get behind him if he comes in and maybe redirect their frustration and anger towards the Glazers? Because they're the reason we are in an absolute mess.

Our CEO (Spurs fan) just walked over to my desk, laughed, and walked off.

Had to assure everyone around me it was football related... at least I really hope it was :nervous:

I really hope it was because he got a dck pic by sms and thought it was from you, and that if you’d asked him about Reguilon, he’d hve said ‘oooh, that hurts, he’s the best player at the club’

Shame we're refusing to give Fernandez a chance to see what he's about in favour of bringing in a player proven not to be good enough

Remember when we were linked to buy him during Mourinho or Oles reign

He was a promising player at one stage. Three years of being really rather crap and his inability to get into Spurs' or Atletico's teams have rather soured opinions, though.

He started great at Spurs and made me feel like we missed out. Then he fell off a cliff and wasn't able to run as much as Conte expected a wingback to and I realised we dodged a bullet. Nice to see us giving that bullet another chance though.

We are headbutting a bullet.

Nothing but a back up LB. Fair enough. He’ll be gone from the bench when Shaw returns

Ten Hag doesn’t need to give him a chance to know what kind of player he is.

Its simple logic. Even if we had money to burn I would still find it weird to spend a big chunk on a 3rd lb just because our 2 lb are currently out.

Last Minute FC.

Funny signing this guy, remember how we'd missed out apparently when he first went to Spurs.

That makes sense and it's also backed up by Ornstein. The LB loan is a short term signing which is fine as long as we can also sign Amrabat and integrate Hannibal who I feel could surprise a few.

See a lot of this, if Dalot or AWB goes down all we'll have for 3 months is Fernandez and one of the others that isn't injured for 2 spots

Yeah it's strange how people can't understand this. He'll most likely be 3rd choice once Shaw and Malacia are back.

Won't somebody think of Fernandez!

Seriously, when you have no recognised left backs fit and are using one of our only two right backs as cover, you cannot expect someone with zero Premier League appearances to step up and be reliable. That is madness. I don't care how many times you've watched the Class of '92 documentary, that's just not how football really works, and it would be incredibly irresponsible to start the season with only three recognised full backs, two of which are naturally right-sided and one who has literally never played at this level for a second in their life.

A loan is the only sensible choice, and I don't know what reality you live in where we can bring someone in as cover who is as good as Shaw. I'd much prefer it was Marc Cucurella, but you were all sneering at that too.

Time for a lot of you to get your dummies back in your mouth and access your un-crazy side.

If it’s a choice between Cucurella only or Reguilon and Amrabat then the latter makes much more sense and is the better option.

He looked good at Sevilla, dreadful at Spurs. Who knows maybe ETH can get him back to that player.

Sad to see us scrambling about like this mind. What the hell has actually happened to Malacia? Is Alvaro really not good enough to bother rotating with Dalot?

I've been a little disappointed in the lack of youth integration from ETH so far.

We couldn’t afford the hair products demand

Amrabat and Reguilion, i will take that. Rather Reguilion than Curcurella.

At least Reguilion has pace.

I mean...as long as it's very much back up because i'd rather we just start Dalot there, who had some decent (ish) games at left back last season IIRC. Think he scored in one of them?

I mean, the quality of your work can’t be worse than our transfer business. Pretty sure you’d have been out on your arse by now

How is he better than Fernandez?

Not a high bar to clear but as of right now he is defensively stronger and probably has a little more pace. He does have top flight experience too. I am interested in what happens before the deadline as I have a feeling Fernandez will be leaving and that is why we are making this move.
