Will he feck.

He’ll start most games until Shaw is back. Why do you think we’re in the market for a LB?
Malacia will probably start when he's fit. We currently have both injured that's why we need someone as Shaw is out half a season

What's the point of keeping youngsters in the squad if when needed we rather sign garbage?

I remember so many caf members crying their eyes out that we didn't get him, maybe they can finally see him play for United now.

I hate to lambast a signing but this is underwhelming. Even Weghorst came in on some relatively good form in Turkey. Cucurella has been a POTS at Brighton just over a year ago. Poch scuppered the deal because he had a feeling Cucurella could turn out well for us.

How much better is he than Telles?

He isn't.

You know how we've been pressing up the pitch and completely neglecting any form of defending?

I don't think this is how you solve it.

But we are where we are. We sold Telles because he's shite but we clearly weren't allowed not to have a shite LB so here we go!

It's kind of like the Weghorst deal, you're never going to get someone who is much cop on loan at the last minute when you don't have much money to spend as a consequence of a decade (if not longer) of poor work in the transfer market. Given that, any of the options mentioned are fine until Shaw is back, none of them are particularly good but they're all at least PL standard players, albeit it doesn't suggest that Fernandez has much of a future at the club (I haven't seen him play so not sure if he's any good anyway) if he's not trusted even when 2 other left backs are missing.

Such a weird signing . We still have Dalot and Fernandez for the left side. Shouldnt we focus on a midfielder instead?

Only United could let Telles go on loan, watch him win a European trophy, sell him for 4M and then loan a worse left back for similar money.

I remember him being superb for Sevilla and ripping us a new one in the Europa League some years back. Then he went to go play for post-Chelsea Jose Mourinho, where young players careers go to die, and it was downhill ever since. Can only hope that there is still a decent player in there somewhere.

That's the straw I am grasping on to as well but with very little conviction. Can remember being gutted when we missed out on him then saw the performances at Spurs

Worse he is not being trusted to be backup to Dalot at lb until Shaw/Malacia get back.

Can we not just skip the LB signing entirely rather than sign Regulion?

Honestly, yeah. I really don't get the need at all. In big names, Dalot is going to be the only one trusted anyway so why not just roll with Fernandez as the emergency backup for a few weeks until Malacia gets back?

Feels like we're just in a simulation to test how far people will go not to criticise the club. I really wish I hadn't complained about Cucurella now

100%
Id rather take a chance on him than a player that we know is not good enough.

Indeed. Even if he fails and we end up selling him, I'd rather that than pay big wages for someone who doesn't improve us one bit. I don't like to be negative about a signing beforehand but this is more than underwhelming.

I'm all for LB cover but it seems the best option to get Amrabat if we are indeed in for him would be to not sign a LB and hedge our bets on Malacia coming back soon. As long as Dalot and AWB stay fit, they will be the starters.

Maybe because Fernandez is better off going on loan and being a starter for a season

Weirdly I'm quite hopeful he'd do ok for us.

He's not a great defender but atleast he looks threatening when he's attacking. Can't say that about any of our fullbacks.

Don't mind it. We needed someone for an emergency and he was highly rated not long ago. Not working out at 1 club doesn't mean it'll always be like that.
He's had one decent season across his career, it was on loan at Sevilla

This is actually so scary because it's actually true. The state of this club right now.

The dream has come true. Reguilon finally joins United just as everyone one wanted when he joined Spurs
