Sergio Reguilón

This is such an odd transfer in the fact that United were offered the player by RM and/or his agents. And so United have been contemplating this and there's been obvious internal discussions about the buy back clause and the player's total commitment to the club because in the back of his mind, there's always RM. The player himself has stated that RM is his end goal and he can jump ship back to them at any window.

Not too bothered by this if it doesn't happen. LB isn't as important as solidifying attacking depth to rotate with Greenwood and then having to field a backup center forward once Ighalo leaves in a few months.

Getting pipped by fecking Spurs
Pipped? This was called days ago. We literally had a brief saying we were being used to flush out Spurs.
Look what happens. This is the result of mass hypnosis where we talk ourselves into desperately needing a player so the disappointing crushes us all.

Lads, all Romano said was talks were progressing, United wouldn't accept a buy back clause and Reguilon wants to join. He never said we agreed a deal.

If he said the sky was purple and the grass was blue half the people on here would look outside mate.

I have known he's a BS merchant all along. Not been reporting Spurs interest in the player has he? Didn't know about DVB coming to us. Didn't know about Sancho's +1 yr. He's a professional chancer. He's got no idea on transfers in England. He gets some tips from Italy from Di Marzio sources etc but he's no idea about our dealings clearly yet gullible fools lap it up.

I don't think it's even that. We were plainly interested; for a certain price.

Not even the Spanish media were aware of Spurs' negotiations. The only mention of Spurs was from Mundo Deportivo who said that they were just monitoring the situation (no mention of negotiations). This was kept very quiet until Ornstein released his exclusive.

I love how now suddenly this lad is the best thing since sliced bread because he might be off to Spurs.
And Smalling is now the best thing since sliced bread because he might stay.
Redcafe,funny place.

I don't see the point in promoting AWB to an even more attacking position. He excels defensively, yet the right wing back in this formation needs to make the most difference going forward, a facet of his game which he famously struggles with.
AWB should be a DM, all his attributes are made for him to excel there

Translation: He's full of shit and went with us because there was more smoke around us than a move to Spurs.

The less United fans see a footballer, they more they rate him. I was doubtful of this for the most part, but after seeing how Smalling got overrated last season, I'm now convinced.

This sort of thing could see Glastonspur log back in. He is probably having a good w*** over this thread.

Smalling was rated by sections of the fans before his move to Roma and its only been cemented since.

Why are you focused on Romano so much? Look at the bigger picture: even Spain didn't know about Spurs; they only knew about United. If we weren't interested in him, then there'd have been a brief from the United-linked journalists. As it is, however, this has gone on for several days already without any rebuttal.

They don't want to hear it mate. All the things he called right this summer and now he's a fraud for getting a transfer wrong which he never really got wrong.

Because he's a BS merchant and I like to expose frauds.

Or they did but kept quiet because it was a brief to make them pay up

Or maybe this is the nature of a forum with many opinions coming from different people.
We've had Smalling at the club for god knows how long and yet,yet people/fans convince themselves otherwise that he's a great defender.

One ok half a season abroad isn't going to change my views on Smalling.
He should go,along with Rojo and Jones.

In fairness he literally said 4 hours ago United and Madrid in talks today and Reguilon wants to join united. Bit odd that he’d know that much detail but not know Tottenham are going to sign him the same evening. He’s either a chancer or he’s been used by the agents. I’m fairly sure it’s the latter.

Everyone in Spain was reporting Manutd. We won't agree on buy back clause while Spurs might. To say reporting by Romano was incorrect is wrong.

Did you read Athletic article? It just says close to agreement and United also in talks. Nowhere it mentions they have agreed

The amount of “briefs” and hush hush this forum seems to invent over transfer rumours is hilarious.

Spurs haven't agreed a deal for him. Ornstein said they are close. Things can change very quickly.

Sounding like the buyback clause was a sticking point. Very disappointed with this.

We better be targeting Alaba or Telles, then. To go into a season with Luke Shaw as our starting LB means it’s inevitable that Williams will get an awful lot of game time.

Others have piled in now saying he’s off to Spurs. And the original journalists saying he was coming to us have stated the deal is off. They were all played by the agent to get spurs to make a bid.

He’ll go to Spurs, Jose will suck the life out of him then people who didn’t want him will say I told you so.

I see nothing from any Marca, El Chiringuito, or other radio-station-related Twitter account on this. This started from another Real Madrid aggregator account, and now Twitter's blowing up because of that one Tweet.
