If we don't get Regulon we might consider Roberto Carlos instead. He would compliment Bail greatly

Why would he go to Spurs though? Perhaps there is really no offer from us and Romano has probably got this wrong

Maybe Spurs accept the minimum clause wanted by Real/regulon

Why wouldn't he? He's probably open to going to any relatively big club in a big league. He's young. Real Madrid probably insisted on buy back clause which we probably refused so Spurs probably said they were OK with it.

If he goes to Spurs, Jose is going to have two attacking fullbacks, wonder if he switches to 3 at the back to get the best out of them..

But then was absolutely adamant he was joining us and shot down the Spurs rumour? What's the date of that image I quoted above?

Yeah he was adamant that deal is close, and he will join ManUtd.

We’d still have the chance to sign him if it’s only Spurs - would still be in our hands. My guess is they don’t care about the buy back clause.

I want a LB but am not too bothered Reguilon. I have questioned his defensive ability, sure he looks amazing going forward but so does Marcos Alonso.

Yeah same.
Spurs would probably be okay with the buy back clause too. Makes sense for him to join Spurs if his goal is to ultimately play for Real.

What I'm hoping is that our awful performance on Sunday has forced Levy's hand to actually get some decent players in as soon as possible. No idea if we will get this guy but I'd be delighted if we did because we really need a left back.

Would be genuinely funny and tragic at the same time if they end up getting him without a buyback

Have to wish condolences to his potential though if he plays for 2020 Jose

Stop it, no sane person could think that Spurs will beat United to this when they don't even have CL unless they agree to a buyback clause.

Very interesting. Ornstein vs Romano. I know they could both have been right at different times in the transfer process but as recently as the last hour or so Romano has said he's close to United. They're generally seen as the two most reliable journalists in the business. I think he's a quality player and would love to see him at United competing with Shaw.
Romano hasn't said we've agreed a deal, just that we are in talks, which is what Ornstein says.

My guess is that RM asked for a Bale loan to be included in the deal and Spurs said yes while we said no. We'll see in the next day or so I guess.

Yep this unfortunately.

We lost out on Haaland for similar reasons, no big clubs would accept these clauses

fecking knew it, used again. When will you people learn not to trust Madrid mouthpieces

Woodward deciding this €35m is better in Dortmund’s account..:wenger:

Fvuck off Woodward. He is a disgrace picking up millions for the shambles he presides over in player recruitment, sales and contracts.

Lads, all Romano said was talks were progressing, United wouldn't accept a buy back clause and Reguilon wants to join. He never said we agreed a deal.

didn't think of that. You may br right, 2 for 1 deal makes sense from Madrids point of view.

To be honest there is literally nothing in Athletic article. They have no agreement with Real like we don't have

Personally i dont mind if we miss out on this. Our priority upgrades are at RW and DC. Upgrade at LB is a luxury signing at this point.

But we better upgrade at RW/DC, and not use this as an excuse for not signing enough new talent

Can someone wake me up once the window closes, it’s just one thing after another
