Logical, but you're forgetting football isn't always logical.
Who thought we'd get VP or Mata. Who thought Wenger could possibly turn down Fabregas? Who could possibly believe we turned down Mourinho for Moyes?
Players have the power these days. If Ramos makes enough fuss, it can happen.
It obviously depends on what extent we actually want him, and what extent we're doing it to hijack the De Gea situation.
Valdez probably doesn't make any difference to anything. He was never going to be our first choice. It smacked of a move to give the impression we have a keeper handy, so aren't desperate to buy anyone else. But he was never going to be a contender.
Indeed. If Ramos has been offered two or three times his current salary then at 29, with one big move left he might be very keen.
Puts Madrid in a tough spot if he's not going to re-sign and wants to go it's not easy.
De Gea may be in the same position here, but will get his move next year so may very well give another season his best. Ramos might only get a mega contract offer once.
