How would you feel about Jasper Cillessen being our number one though?
 
Hopefully the £42m figure being tweeted about is before De Gea is subtracted off, which would more or less bring it down into the teens.

I haven't seen anywhere near enough of him to make an informed decision. I'd trust Hoek and LVG if they choose him though. Especially Hoek tbh.

As and El Pais are the same editorial group so will be interesting to see what el partido de las doce(Cope/Marca) says about this tonight

From the World Cup I got the impression he is nothing on De Gea. Still, I haven't seen much of him either, De Gea is in the top 3 keepers in Europe right now so it's hard to get a like for like replacement, and Ramos would be an excellent signing. Gutted to lose Dave though if this is true.

No. But I'd genuinely start a petition to get Woody knighted if he pulled that off.
 
If its £42 million for Ramos, and £20/25 million for De Gea, then everyone wins really.

Absolutely. Considering De Gea has just a year left on his contract, Woody will have pulled off an absolute masterstroke if he gets Ramos out of the deal and good money for De Gea.
 
latest set of tweets look like it's all back on, after a quiet week or so

Ramos and Smalling would be a tasty combo, provided both can stay fit.
 
It will be sad to see De Gea go but we've strengthened the core of the team and if Ramos settled in, then we wouldn't need a wonder goalkeeper. It don't hurt to have one but hopefully teams would create less against us. We'd be more disciplined and so it's better to look at the positives. Ramos has got all of his sendings off out of the way. That's another. Put it in his contact - every time he get's a yellow Phil jones replaces him. It would be a lot of money but he seems a grounded player so it would be nice to bring his quality into our defense.
 
Pretty difficult to get excited when it means losing De Gea. If you're talking about how many points per game he's worth, I don't think too much of an exaggeration to put him relatively close (not quite) to the Messi/Ronaldo bracket, so Ramos whilst a good signing, will symbolise that we will be hugely weakened.

It's just an annoyance that we can't 'win' in any transfer involving DDG but I guess we've just got to get over it an move on.
 
Be completely fine with De Gea going if we got Ramos, we all know he's off next year anyway and this way we'd actually have got something out of the deal

Thinks thats Man Utd directors thinking too. Might as well get something out of it because he's certain going to leave for Madrid in the next 12 months. The cnut!
 
I hope Ramos wife knows she'll be playing second fiddle to Ander & Juan.
 
Who was reporting it could be 60mil euros for Ramos and DDG leaves on a free in Jan?

I don't usually get too wound up about the money side of things but that wouldn't be too pleasant. I'd want DDG till at least the summer.

That wouldnt make much sense for Madrid. He would probably be cuptied in the CL.
 
Would be amazing if we got Ramos...not getting my hopes up until I see him holding up the shirt.
 
If we get Ramos he could tell DDG what it is really like playing for Madrid, convincing him to dump his woman and sign a new contract.
