No chance now and maybe the hangover from when there was the need to consider if Pogs was leaving this summer.....
The Midfield is the engine room of every great team. Get that right and your 70% there. Savic would be a great addition if Pogba were to go.
And also a downgrade
I think he is a one dimensional lump who we over paid for.
I would go as far as to say he is the worst starting CF I have seen in 36 years watching United
Give Munich £70-80m for Thiago and Vidal, both available.
Get Bonucci, £25m or Chiellini on a free transfer
Rondon, £16m. Would be a good back up target man. PL experienced. 1 in 4 for West Brom. Heart like a lion. Better player than RL.
1 of Bale £90-100m, Malcom £40m, Rodrygo £44m

God I love football manager fans that think it's as easy as throwing money at teams playersBest nonsense:word count ratio I've seen in a long time.

What happened with Savic? I remember a month ago everyone saying he was going to be our player. Even posters used to put him in our future line-up with Alderweireld and Sandro... Now, no one continue talking about him.
Agreed. Price seems outlandish. There would appear to be much better value in the market.Lazio priced him out of the market. Wouldn’t touch him at the rate asked. 60-70m max. More pressing needs. Fred is a much better signing for team balance.

As long as they keep winning CL's and we keep finishing second in the league, every player we sign will be a Madrid fan. Only one way to change that.So he supports Real Madrid then? I’d rather we keep away from this deal than have to endure a “will he won’t he leave” saga every fecking summer.
Don't understand why teams do this. Best thing they could have done is pitched him slightly under market rate and started a bidding war. Now they'll have to wait until the last week of the window, lower the price after everyone's already done their business and try and get a replacement in before the window shuts.Lazio overpriced him all the way to the moon for absolutely no reason and now no one looks interested. Even though there are some Madrid links around, somewhere...

Is he genuinely top tier or is he this season's Belotti who was also somehow worth 100 million last summer?

He is a great midfielder, even Madrid is linked with him. I think he will sign for Juventus.I know next to nothing about this player, yet he is the one I’d most like to come in this summer for some inexplicable reason...

I honestly can't believe we (the newspapers at least) are talking about 100-150m for Sergej without any reactions on how much money that is for a player that 90% have never seen play or even knew about 6 months ago.

He is not top tier at the moment, but his potential is clear to see and he could reach said tier. The problem for me is that he is still inconsistent (which is understandable, but considering how much he'd cost and how it may be now or never for José I think he'd be too big of a risk) and is just as lazy/lost in defence as Pogba but doesn't get exposed as much as Pogba does due to playing alongside Lucas and Parolo who both had good seasons, so I don't think he'd compliment our current midfield. Unless Fred is a beast defensively like Kanté which, from my limited knowledge of said player, I don't think he is, but who knows! Is he genuinely top tier or is he this season's Belotti who was also somehow worth 100 million last summer?

Having watched nearly all of Lazio's games last year I wouldn't sign him based on what we need more as a priority, how much he'd cost, and how I think we'd need a different type of CM to compliment Pogba, Matic and Fred. Unless we revert to a diamond formation which I don't think is likely. Even if we did play said formation, I'd prefer his teammate in Luis Alberto who is one of the most creative players in the world (he'd probably be our most creative alongside Pogba - I'd say he's on par or even better creativity wise) and was Lazio's best player for me this year. The problem with L.Alberto is that he may be a bit too lightweight which is unfortunate. Some of his throughballs and scooped balls over the top are amazing - Lukaku would have a field day.
Yeah. Watch them buy him back for a big fee and him to lit up the PLIs this the same Luis Alberto that flopped at Liverpool?
Yeah, as @giorno said he's matured a lot this season. Savic may get all the headlines and Immobile may get all the goals, and whilst they're rightly being praised, I think L.Alberto should get a lot more than he does. For me, he was their most important player this year; more so than the other two, in my opinion. Is this the same Luis Alberto that flopped at Liverpool?
The fact that you are echoing my thoughts is nice as you're a very knowledgeable poster - especially when it comes to Serie A (& La Liga of course).Yeah. Watch them buy him back for a big fee and him to lit up the PL
Matured and now he's amazing
I was going to say I couldn't see Martial fitting in anywhere with the formation they play but realised that if F.Anderson joins West Ham which is looking likely, and we of course get Savic in return, he could play as a 10/SS which I believe he'd like as he wants to play more central, right? With L.Alberto permanently taking up the deeper CM role as an 8 that Savic occupies.Straight swap for Tony M
Rodgers basically never gave him a chance. Committee signing that he never wanted.Yeah. Watch them buy him back for a big fee and him to lit up the PL
Matured and now he's amazing
They won't. Lotito is notorious for running hard bargaind and is not afraid to sit a player out, no matter who it is, unless he gets exactly what he wantsIf those poverty Italian bargain bucket feckers get him for €50m I'll be pissed.
I thought there was some sort of unwritten custom that Italian teams were happier to sell to each other to keep to league competitive as opposed to selling abroad? I seem to remember that sort of rhetoric during the Bonucci to Milan stuff. They won't. And he's even harder with other italisn clubs
