Yeah better than Salah who has done remarkably well but only for one season. Bale also ripped this league apart and is still in his twenties. He has done very well in la liga also, if he signs and beds in he’s the best around for me. On another note I think Hazard is better than Salah also.

Coleman would be a cheap option (if available) much like Cedric and would still upgrade us if we are toiling to identify anyone. Hopefully we have someone in mind and we get them. But Coleman was the best attacking right back in the league for many a season and he may be a steal for a season or two still.

I also have my doubts about signing Fred and SMS but it really rests on who is available our budget and what Jose thinks is best going forward. If no outstanding right attacker is available then this is a good way to go to get us back to the top and challenging. It also dampens the need for us to rely on Pogba and will help him a bit more. Plus if he doesn’t play ball (attitude, agent, form) then we are in a much better position to sell him as we’d have good numbers and quality in that position.

Although in saying this it would not surprise me totally as Jose did highlight we needed to strengthen the midfield as the priority with Carrick retired and possibly Fellaini are leaving we really could boost our quality massively by replacing these two with Fred and SMS.

Your other points with Rojo Valencia Young and Matic. Apart from Matic I can see these 3 other guys not getting a look in next season and these guys playing less than 40% of games. Smalling has done well this season and is younger. If we signed SMS or/and Fred we are already in a position we can rest Matic a bit more or replace him completely. I think Matic has at least another 3 years in him anyway so moot point really imo.

His injuries will get more frequent in the EPL and as he will grow older. Will end up with a highly salaried player whom we cant relied upon

Who will get Pogba. PSG, Barca, Real, are the main ones but Chelsea and City are interested also.

No. Pogba is horrible closer to goal. He isnt comfortable in the hole because he likes to be involved. He thrives on being at the center of the action then arriving late to finish off moves near or in the box. Because we dont have a creative 10 currently ahead of him he has been constantly caught between not drifting too far forward to leave Matic with no help in midfield, yet being the only one capable of creating things forcing him to need too attack the box rather than concentrate on runing things. He needs to be freed to operate in between both boxes, where he has always done his best work, whilst someone else conducts creativity in and around the box.

Every time we place Pogba in the hole he struggles 9/10 times. Every time we play him as an 8 he thrives. Yet the myth that he struggles deeper persists.

There is no way United play 4-2-3-1 and we get the best out of Pogba in the hole. In a 4-2-3-1 he'd work excellently with a 10 ahead of him. For he operates best in between both boxes, not attacking the box.

That's because he's not a no 10. He's best utilised as the most advanced option in a 3 men midfield. That's were Juventus played him and he was untouchable there. Same thing about SMS.
 
Judging by the kind of fee being quoted, and the type (style of play and positional preference) of player Savic is, it might just be at the expense of Pogba, if we get Savic.

It does look a bit hurried but Jose doesn't seem to be messing about judging by his comments lately. Not probable but possible he's seen enough to make this potential call.

Lot of mobility in there. That allows both Paul and SMS to dominate higher up the pitch.

They havent qualified for the CL, otherwise i think they would have better cards. But now, i dont think they could reject 100m, nobody will pay more for him.
 
Savic surely has to be a replacement for Pogba who's off to PSG or Juventus, then we can concentrate our efforts on Bale :smirk:

Pogba will be sold if Savic arrives. Fred is a different player than Savic.

Going by what we've seen from Pogba in a Untied shirt I think Savic would probably offer far more.

There's no chance Lazio would reject that amount. Pretty sure he will go for less.
 
Pogba really hasn't been that bad. I'd like to think when we're in a title race longer than a month or two, he'll be more motivated, get the feeling most of our team has been on auto-pilot since christmas time.
 
Even if Savic arrives, you can't sell Pogba when there's no one to sell him to.
Sounds to me like a team desperately trying to drum up interest from somewhere. We already breifed that the values being quoted are unrealistic.
Think this is hogwash.

I think he will go for less too. Can't see any other club seem super keen on acquiring him for that price.

I dont think Jose is silly enough to sell Pogba and go and pay over the odds for a lesser replacement.

Pogba isnt going this summer guys.
