I think we need the depth at RB and for the price mentioned, he would be great for us. If he could play LB as well it would be a no brainer

He couldn't get a work permit before, why would he now?

Can't say I've watched a lot of him but from YouTube (i know... I know), he seems to dive in a lot.

Knowing our luck he'd do that first game of the season and be injured for the rest of it!

on form he's one of the best in the world.

regarding his transgressions, people have forgiven many others, perhaps he's genuinely trying to/could be a better person.

he's only 24, i think he'd be worth a punt

Would be an interesting signing, I think we all agree we need to strengthen the midfield and a wide forward more than RB, but if available should be at least considered by Jose.

Was a lot of talk of Semedo before he went to Barcelona and Valencia will need replacing next year or the year after so it does make sense to look at the options at RB before we have limited options.

If Jose can get Aurier playing, he can be a top right back, he is similar to Valencia, strong quick will get up and down. He isn't wanted at PSG and would be cheap.

Get a midfielder in, sort the perisic deal and do this one late in the window. Would make sense if Darmian was to leave. Then we'd have Valencia/Aurier for RB, and Shaw/Blind for LB. If Darmian stays and is happy, no real need for Aurier

He is good

He said that Ibrahimovic is gay as well
Didn't he say Blanc was gay for noshing Ibrahimovic off? I guess that makes Zlatan gay too if he was getting down with it.

When you see fans saying "this guy would transform us" you realise all that is wrong with football these days, if I had my way the guy wouldn't be allowed to play professionally.

Lol there is a bit of a difference between being a bit of a hot head on the pitch and assaulting a police officer and slagging off your team mates and manager publicly.

Punching somebody in the stomach
Going in two footed and nearly breaking a leg
Kicking somebody while they were down

I mean, I'd rather be called gay than have some idiot lunge in on my legs two footed, but hey, each to their own

Lol hmmmmmm does Roy Keane ring any bells with you? Plenty of footballers have done stuff on a pitch, yes United players too.

And I'm also not excusing any players.
Plenty are idiots on and off the pitch.

But to say Aurier in your opinion shouldn't play football again, should add the likes of Alli to that list also, but then again, I assume he'd get a pass in your opinion?

Lol if your comparing assaulting a police officer and slandering your own club equal to stuff that happens on a pitch there's not really anything I can say.

One elbowed a person in the stomach.
One jumped in two footed at a persons legs.

Again, police officer or not, both are human beings, I know which one I'd rather be on the end of.
I'm not excusing any of the actions be either player, but to suggest one should not player football again is a bit of a stretch.

We see things differently I guess the average Joe on the street would be affected career wise by a criminal conviction I don't see why a footballer should be different.

Not playing football ever again is way too far.

That's just an image in French slang. He called him a "fiotte" though which can refer to unmanliness or being gay or just a generic insulting term, It was a crude way to say Blanc was weak.

For 20m, we should definitely be interested. Valencia needs upgrading badly. Our lack of real width comes from our fullbacks not doing a great job too. Been very solid at the back but his forward contribution is poor. We should give him a contract with severe penalties based on discipline (if that's possible). If he doesnt work out, no biggie.

You can't be interested as he can't get a visa

No one is questioning his talent. Yes, he probably would have good games here and there, and be an asset for a good price from time to time (if he can even get a visa with his criminal record). However, he'll bring a lot of negatives to the team with his attitude, and a bad reputation to the club off-the-field with his entourage. I like having a tough/bad guy on the team, I think the club has done exceptionally well with those tough characters, but Aurier is a different animal, he's just plain dumb in his decisions and who he surrounds himself with.

If I find out he's genuinely separated from his entourage and has been dedicated to football, then I'd revisit in a year or two but he's nowhere near mature enough to bring more positives than negatives to the club, which is really focusing on team harmony and spirit under Mourinho.

Why is that? Sorry for my ignorance, I am somewhat out of the loop on this one.

He has an assault conviction for I believe hitting a cop. He was banned entry for a game vs Arsenal over it. Non EU members who have been sentenced to jail can't move to England until 5 years after the conviction, I'd imagine with Brexit, it will be non Brits in general but either way its not good for Aurier.

Was he available I'd imagine City and United would be all over him despite his attitude.

He couldn't play against Arsenal this season at Emirates because he had his visa revoked.

Right, that does complicate things alright. Thanks for the update.

He had a French citizenship application declined in 2011 for getting in trouble at school 5 years earlier.

If I'm not mistaken, the application got declined because he couldn't provide a birth certificate.

So why shouldn't Alli get a criminal conviction for punching someone during a football match? What's the difference between punching someone in the pitch or in the streets?

In fact, if I punched someone at work id expect to be fired. If I punched someone on the street at the weekend, I'd expect to get nicked. So Alli is the one who should've been fired and not play for Spurs again?

Assault + homophobic comments are far worse than on-the-field stuff done by Alli. C'mon.

Aurier isn't a pure RB/RWB, he is a right back/center back. Aurier isn't really good in the last third, he can barely cross. he is a sort of Ivanovic.
Wrong, i think he could make a very good WB. He is a 'very good' crosser and an aerial threat, infact, his attacking side surpasses his defensive side. He has the energy to get up and down the wing and with better end product than Valencia. The downside is his rashness in defence- worse than Bailly-, his private life and his attitude.
